Hey guys check this site out ...there is info on the supercharger thats going into the cobalt

The Eaton Supercharger Model 62 is designed for 2.5L to 4.0L passenger car and light truck engines, but may also be suitable for other engine sizes, depending on total system performance requirements.

Isnt the Cobalt 2.0L is this bad or good......

And here is a real Newbie Question...
I know all about turbos but i know nothing about Superchargers...anyways i was wondering can a blowoff valve be added to a Supercharged car...call me a ricer or a rice man what ever but i love the sound a BOV makes on a turbo car...thanks for the replies

 

the eaton m62 supercharger is a roots type supercharger, which is found in the cobalt / ion redline, roots type supercharges come with internal bov and cannot be tampered with, centrifugal superchargers on the other hand are much like turbos but drivin by belt instead of exhaust, they have an identical powerband to a turbo and you can install aftermarket bov. companies that make centrifugal superchargers are vortec and ATI procharger.

 

So i cant put a BOV on the supercharger that is in the cobalt...that sucks i wont get that cool sound hahaha oh well i wonder why they didnt go turbo

 

no but i'm sure you'll like he sound of the supercharrger whining, its awsome, have you heard a roots type supercharger before if not try to find someone that has one in their ride, like pontiac gtp's montecarlo ss 03-04 and impala ss 03-04 i think 03 they all have roots type supercharger, eaton m90 to be exact and pop the hood and have them rev up the whining is awsome. almost like a turbo spooling. but louder.
