HID ballast problem
Everytime I get in my car and start it up, my passanger headlight don't turn on.. If I turn my headlights completely off and turn them back on again, it works.. wtf? Does anybody know a fix for this ? The Ground is good.

Happens to almost every car with aftermarket hids ..what I used to do to prevent that was putting the switch on "high beam" when car was off so every time I turned on the car it would start off with high beams to prevent wearing out hid's quicker.... Then I would switch to hid's...

Yup. The headlight on at unlock feature is turned off.. When I push my lever forward for constant high beams, the HID's dont work at all... When I pull the lever towards me, for temporary high beams, both low and highs work. I have a the low/high beam kit. I dont believe these are hooked up wrong. Ive had 2 other cobalts and not a single problem with HID's.

Ohh. Okay.. I guess I'm just uneducated about this stuff..
When I push the lever forward for high beams, it shuts the lows off, and just my daytime running lights stay on.. When I pull it towards me, the lows stay on and the halogen comes on too.. not very noticable; halogen vs HID lol.. I'm just trying to verify that this is how they operate and I dont have a faulty kit.

Okay, yes thats fine. I really appreciate your help buddy.. Turbosmart4 said to keep your highbeams on when youre not driving, I didn't know if it would help me because my high beams dont work.

Agreed. I have HIDs in all of my cars, family cars and friends car. That is NOT normal, unless a 12 year old installed them, then I guess it's acceptable.
For bixenon, the retractable bulb kits, I have noticed there is always more wear and less power going to the passenger side headlight creating premature wear on the ballast and the bulb. Just replace both every now and then and you'll be fine. I mean hell these kits are cheap now days.... I remember back in the day when HIDs first started paying $200/kit.
