I have had a problem with my passenger headlight not working as well. I got the Bi-xenons and in less than a year the passenger headlight started having problems. For a while I could cycle the headlights a few times and it would come on, but that only worked for so long. I have now been waiting for MONTHS for my free replacement under warranty. Assuming I ever do get a replacement ballast I hope this doesn't become a recurring problem, but for now, and the past few months my car is barely even driveable since I don't get off work til it's dark.

I've had nothing but problems with DDMtuning.. Ive orderd a total of 4 kits from them and every time something is wrong. Either one of the ballasts are bad, or 2 different bulbs, etc. Their customer service isnt the greatest either. They used to be a really good company a few years ago, but the qaulity has dropped recently.. The one ballast might be going bad.. I have to wait until I have the money to replace it. It dont flicker or anything...

Mine do this too but I just have to flick my highbeams on to get it to work. The guy before me who owned this car bought some cheap ass Chinese ballasts and then glued the damn headlights shut with epoxy or something. They only do it every once in awhile so I havent needed to replace them.

Happens to my car only when it rains and I guess something gets wet. Turning them off allows the charge to build up in order to fire up the HID. Thats how I see it. Im thinking its because the extra power source is not transfering power to the ballast like its wired up to... only when wet tho

Like mine only does it in the morning before I go to work.. Once theyve been on solid for 5-10 minutes, its fine the rest of the day... It's really weird. Instead of wasting the money on another shitty HID kit, I might as well get my retro's.

Well make sure you don't get shitty hids with your retros, or you'll have the same problems. Buy the morimoto kit, it's worth every penny

Honestly, that was my plan.. You get what you pay for.. Ive seen a few memebers on here with that setup and it looks soo good!! I wish I could find pictures of how bright they are from the drivers seat though.. like 100 feet away from a building or a garage if that makes sense lol

The kit is the 35w Morimoto 5000k kit. Same kit in fog lights, though the fog lights aren't on in the last 3 pics
considering that you will end up with the new mini 5.0, compared to my 1.0, you will have less foreground light up close to the car, but that means they will be better in the distance.

Wow, that looks really good.. I'm def. getting them! Everybody said 6000k is the best because it gives you the ability to see better, and its not bad to other drivers. People flash their high beams at me all the time.. Did people flash their lights at you in your old car?

as long as you aim them properly, you won't get flashed, at least not often. Mind you, in the bottom two pics, the car is facing uphill, so it looks higher than it's actually aimed.

Also, 4300k will be the brightest color bulbs, then 5000k, then 6000k. People who tell you to get 6000k are just stuck on ricer blue. 4300-5000k are the most functional colors. The more blue in the bulbs the worse they will perform. 4300k is sort of an off white. It's the color all most OEM HIDS are. 5000k is a pure white, it's the color that the newest Mercedes run, also what I had in my car. I've also noticed going from 6000k to 5000k in the past, that while also being noticibly brighter, the 5000k causes far less eyestrain when driving at night. 4300k is even easier on the eyes. The human eye hates blue light sources.

The 6000k I run with 55 watt ballasts and it's pure white.. Which do you prefer, 35 or 55 watt ballasts?

35w is safer for the projectors. The Retrofit Source themselves have said not to use anything above 35w in the mini h1, as 55w can damage the chrome on the reflector bowl, it's happened several time. Plus they're so bright anyways, there's no need for 55w. Also, the reason your 6000k look pure white, is because when you run 55w through those bulbs, it drops the color temp down around 1000k, making your 6000k look like it's 5000k.

Lol thanks. I didn't lose my powers, I gave them up. Got tired of babysitting. Wanted to just kick back and enjoy the site. Plus not getting a million "reported post" emails is nice.
