Maybe i'm retarded, but I think the original point was that if the car came with great plastics, awesome axles, high perfomance clutch, flow through exhaust, etc.. etc.. it would be uber expensive. As an example 33K for an STI. So what's the point of bitching about shitty plastics, crappy axles, poor clutch, bad exhaust, etc, when you can probably replace it all and still spend less than the alternative. As far as agreeing that the parts are crap, I don't, they may not hold up after modification or extreme abuse, but for stock they do their job. Which is all you can really ask of a domestic car. If your not satisfied with that, go buy a corolla S.
