How bad is the Damage...
I was driving home down a street that is under constrution and it wasnt completely done yet. Its all asphalt except where the buses stop, they put about about 1.5-2in layer of cement there. They put a but of asphalt around the edge so it doesnt stick up to bad but its still like a speedbump in the middle of a 35mph road. I drove down one side of the street no problems the day before but I guess the person who tried to smooth one of them over got lazy and I couldnt slow down fast enough. Heres a couple pics of the damage, its not leaking anything and the subframe hit before the oil pan got hit. I though it was just the subframe that got hit but I looked under this morning just to be sure and I see this:

I decent size crack in my trans mount and a smaller hair line crack in the transmission. I know the trans crack is still bad but it should be fine, however Im not sure how safe it is driving around with the plastic trans mount cracked like that. Its not terrible or completely broken but I dont like knowing it has the crack in it. Would you guys replace it or think its still fine and run it?

I'm an engineer for the PA Department of Transportation, and I can't stand when I see milled surfaces in travel lanes w/o proper material ramping. There is to be no vertical service left when a construction crew cleans up for the day on an uncompleted roadway project. They are to place enough material to create an even transition to avoid issues like the op has experienced. Def. file a claim!!

Well, they didn't leave any vertical edges, so your fight against them might be tough. Are you lowered at all??
I've written up many construction sites for not placing any material at all. They at least ramped all the vert. edges.
What was the speed limit in the construction zone? I know you said the speed limit is 35mph, but what was the work zone speed limit?

There is no posted limit, everyone still goes 35, and I wasnt even doing that since I had just turned right, maybe 25mph. Yea I am lowered a lot but theres still reasonable ground clearance. I made it over all the other ones just fine. There are like 6 more on that road and I didnt have a problem with them at all.
I could see you def winning if they left a vertical edge exposed, but it is clear that they ramped all the edges with material like they are supposed to. They do not account for lowered cars when they do this man. I know this is not what you want to hear, but I'm just giving it to you straight. I deal with this crap all the time.
Not to sound like a dick or anything...but don't drive the speed limit through construction zones...especially ones where there are heavily uneven surfaces. I don't give a **** how pissed off people behind me get...I'm riding slow through that...like school zone slow.

file a claim on the state. Something like this happen to me last april. I hit a pothole in the road that i could not miss and it bent my rim on the G5. I put a claim in with the state. I took pics of the pothole and my rim sent it in with a bill on how much from pontiac 1 rim was ($665) without the center cap or tire. They ended up paying for the rim.
It looks like the road ramps down then immediatly back up again there. I bet what happened was that you hit the down, your springs compressed, and then while you were full low, you slammed the other ramp up. That probably also wouldn't have happened if the ramp went all the way across the lane.

Like I said before.... I'm an engineer for the DOT of PA and if something like that happened here we would not do anything for the op. If the construction crew left a vert. edge exposed it would be a diff story for sure.
This really pisses me off because Im always really careful. I know its because Im too low, I dont think its even worth my time pursuing it further with the city.
And tommy, thats pretty much what happened. They should have went all the way across.
They are not required to add material across the entire lane. The construction crew did exactly what they were supposed to do.... eliminate any vert. edges. The op is lowered and ended up scraping. Unless he can get away with out them finding out he isnt lowered he will not will not win the battle.
