check your rubber boot on the axels... that sounds like you may have ripped them doing a burnout with the wheel turned, causing the grease to come out. <--- I might be wrong, but thats what happened to my friends accord w/ H22 swap.. cost me $600 to fix it. (yes, i did say ME, cause i was the one doing the burnouts... )

dude take a screwdriver or something and pry it back a little bit... i can't believe people would drive around like that!! as soon as i put my downpipe on there was that nasty rattle, took out the flathead and pushed it back... instant problem solver... there's no need to take it to the dealer, or somewhere else like Midas and have it welded back on, that's pretty lame advice. just get under there and push it back a little bit.

* sigh * Dude those heat sheilds are made of thin ass metal that are tack welded on the 4 corners. Those tack welds are so crappy that most wind up breaking and the shields rattleing. EVER car I've owned all I've ever done is ull them off, it doesn't hurt a thing.
Now that you know its safe to remove them you have your choice, pull it off OR take it to the dealership to see if its covered under warrenty OR if its the shield from the cat back it will not be in which case just rip it off.

If I took off the heatshield that was protecting the 02 sensor wiring I would make sure the wiring is out of the way; other than that it doesn't have any other function.

Edit: BTW, I've only had the car for a little while now and I thought the rattle was from the shopping cart spoiler; now that was embarrassing .
