How is this deal?
Alright, I've recently decided for sure I'm going to be getting the SS/SC. I have been searching for deals as my dad does not want me getting a brand new car. These cars are VERY hard to come by with the options I want with a color I want. I have found a 2006 Black SS/SC With Sunroof, and G85 performance package that I think is a extremely good deal.
The car has 8,600 miles, one owner, and a 5.9% USED interest rate for 60 months. The car is in brand new condition, seats are perfect, no scratches, dents, blemishes or anything. This car could pass for brand new. (Also has a perfect carfax report)
I have gotten the price on this car down to $16,800 and I'm really hoping I will be able to get it. Please let me know what you guys think of this deal etc.. He thinks deals like this will pop up frequently with the options I want. Ive told him these are hard to come by, both in the area and out of the area, so let me know what you guys think.
Thanks!

if you're father thinks that used 2006 cars with low miles that have not been beaten to **** are going to be common, tell him to wake up please... you'll be lucky to find ANY cobalt that hasn't been beaten on pretty hard, especially with only 8,000 miles... ***sings like an idiot thrusting hips and spinning*** jump on it... jump on it... jump on it... jump on it... ***/ends singing***

That's a great deal *if* there's nothing seriously wrong with it mechanically. You're still under the 1yr/12k mile warranty, so if the clutch is shot or something, it can still be replaced for free. Consider getting an extended warranty if you plan on keeping it any longer than 3 years, though. Ideally, I want my warranty to expire on or after my last car payment. That way if something goes wrong, I'll have a little extra money to fix it. If it's bad, well I can sell it without going upside-down.

DO IT, DO IT, DO IT if i coulda found one i would have done it, plus since its not brand new your insurance will be a bit cheaper then if it was brand new..again DO IT...well take it to the dealer and see if they can look up the warranty work, and get it inspected by a certfied independent mechanic... then BUY IT!!!

WOW. Thats an amazing deal!!! Let me tell you what... I was in the same boat you were for over 4 months trying to find the right one, these cars are SOOOO hard to come by with the options you want (especially the G85) considering this car is rare to begin with. I tried my hardest to find a deal like that and I wasnt able to find one for a good price. I would always find ones with the options that were too expensive, or ones with the color I wanted but without the Performance Package which is very important, and It got real annoying, I got many headaches and some stress just from just looking at different listings all day. I ended up having to get another car which I'm really not happy with now. My friend has had his Cobalt SS Supercharged for 2 years now and hes loving every bit of it. That price is amazing for the miles and options included, It is still under warrantee and you can still upgrade the warantee. Honestly, coming from a unbiased view, I don't even have this car but I can tell you thats a VERY rare deal. Hop on it ASAP if possible.
Hope you work things out.

Nope, the price on the lot is $18,105 - I talked with the guy and let him know I was very interested, and asked what he could bend the price to, and he told me he could do it for $16,800.. It's quite a deal I'd say... I've found 05's without the performance package that for like 16,500 and I thought that was a deal, this is like a steal... I really will be extremely excited if I get this.

Well... It's at the point where you could almost just say you might as well wait for a 2007 or even save and buy a 2008 when they come out, but looking at that price and the condition, I just don't see any way that deal could be passed up, I mean even if you didnt want the car. You could buy that thing and re-sell it for more. But I mean hey, I'd try to work things out with your dad, let him know it's still under warantee and you can always extend it. But besides that, if you decided you didnt like it or something, you could easily re-sell it and probably lose nothing. That car is great, it's got all the options that make the SS an SS. I wish I could of found a deal like that when I bought mine. But I won't regret much, I was told over and over that Chevy's were bad etc... however I knew the SS would be different, I've had this car for over 2 years now and I'm extremely happy I made the decision to get this car. It's held up great, I've had absolutely no problems, and it's just a nice car, especially for us youngin's. Another great thing about the car is there is not many of them, you don't drive around and see these very often, so you will always be unique driving this car, no matter what color or options you have

Well unless you got major connections you wont find a better deal. I paid $8500 for my ss/sc. It was hit I replaced the Hood and Fender so maybe had 9k invested. Got to love them insurance auctions!

Go for it.. I got a used Cobalt and it's working out pretty good. I paid less, but I don't have a lot of those really good features (supercharged, sun roof, etc.). So taking that into account, your deal sounds pretty sweet
