Only reason i ask because hp would continue to climb if we were able to rev to 7500rpm. Thanks guys

I've have my rev limiter set to 7100RPM. I shift about 3 seconds after my shift light on my interceptor lights up at 6800RPM. 7,000 should be plenty. You do notice a difference in power with it higher but I cannot imagine it's worth the explosion your going to create making it go that high.

The highest I have seen it run consistantly is 7400..... I think the valves float at that rpm though. I ran mine at 7200 alot of times with no issues.

I have my limiter set at 7400, I've come close a few times without any issue.
When I had the stage 3 pcm in, I set it to 7600 and it worked just fine.

Has anyone ever dyno'd to 7500rpm? I know the powerband keeps pulling to 7000rpm so 500 more would probably yield a few more ponies.

nobody should go over 7200 , but with valve springs you can go 7500...

Ya it makes sense. I dont know if your tach blows as much as mine does. I have my rev limiter set to 7200 and on the tach it reads 7k-7100 rpm's when it will hit the rev limiter.

Another reason I set it higher. The time period between actual engine rpm and vcm recognition are off sometimes so its better to play it safe.

If anyone decides to run the engine above 7k constantly, I'd strongly suggest changing the valve springs to begin with, but doing it occasionally shouldn't hurt anything.

I only hit the limiter once. Of course it was when I was getting on it hard in 1st.

I like the limiter. Sounds cool, and makes the car throw flames. Not good for racing though, but fun when driving around on wet roads like tonight. Waaaaaaa-BAP-BAP *shift* Waaaaaaaaaa BAP-BAP-BAP
