hey i was wondering if anyone could tell me what i need to install my mechanical oil pressure gauge i have the gauge and the hose and fitting from autometer i need to know what else i need and how and where to tie it in at???

Moved to general. The How-To section is not for questions.

Did you not get any instructions with the gauge? You will need to attach that fitting to any one of the oil galley freeze plugs on the engine block.

Anyways, you will need the autometer sending unit. Most gauges will come with one, but if yours didn't then you will need to buy one. Regardless of that, you will also have to buy the metric adapter I list in the how-to. Hope this helps...

he has a mechanical gauge, so no sending unit is needed.

If you don't have braided steel lines, get some. don't even attempt it with plastic lines, and copper is a pain and a half.

electronic with the sending unit is really a much better way to go. its not QUITE as accurate and a little more expensive, but its easier and you don't have oil piped into your car.

I don't know where the best place to tap into is at on a cobalt.

Oh shoot, i didn't even see that. Thanks denn..yeah no sending unit needed. You would just tap the line right there and run it to the gauge. I didn't want to run an oil line into my interior though, thats why I went the electronic route.
