How long have you driven with your "low fuel" warning on? I did 8 miles with the A/C on before I put fuel in.

 

i think i went a good 40 miles.... not good, considering the tank is a 13.2 gallon tank... when i filled it up, it said 12.8 gallons... oh well didn't have money at the time. gotta do what ya gotta do.

 

let me put it to you this way... I ran out of fuel 20ft from the gas station in this car but it somehow coasted to the pump with all my trouble lights on (stall) (thank god I didn't have push). and when my fuel light came on I drove for another hour (that was 48 miles). and it was fine the whole time.

Do not attempt to get every last bit of gas out of the tank, that's how you ruin fuel pumps if you run her dry. I was inconvienec because where I drove didn't have a gas station around for almost 40 miles.

 

I believe the low fuel light comes on when you have about 10L left in the tank. So it should go another 100km or so. But that depends on how you drive I suppose. I'm typically getting like 9.6L/100km on my SS/SC.

 

mine dosent make a warning sound when its low.. should it beep? mine dosent

 

It rings a bell and lets you know you are low on gas. Maybe you had the music up real loud.

 

i fill up as soon as it says low fuel. it must do that for a reason....

I went about 45 miles. the computer said I had 50 miles left in the tank and I took its word for it . It stops telling you when you got less than 50 miles left i think, then it just says low fuel.

 

yeah i did the same with my cav. made an illegal u turn during rush hour (on a 4 lane w/ suicide lane road) and ran up on a curb in order to coast into the gas station. that was with a 6 mile warning light. my tank is 14 gallons, after i filled, the reciept showed 14.5 gallons.....hmmmm.... well didnt hurt the car...

 

Funny you say that, cuz that's EXACTLY how much went into my tank too when i filled up last week.
