How many OnStar equipped Cobalts?

Well, just a little poll to find out how many Cobalts are OnStar equipped. I have OnStar, and i love it. Especially the handsfree calling, and vehicle diagnostics.

Every time i go to a dealer with my Cobalt, the smart salesmen always quipp my Cobalt must have been special ordered (which it was) because they barely sell any with OnStar.
I get a CEL, call OnStar, they tell me what it is, and (sometimes) how i may be able to fix it. Go to the dealer, they call OnStar and can diagnose it as well. (cheaper than OBD II scanning it. OnStar calls are free)

OnStar, vehicle diagnostics, handsfree calling, remote assistance (lockout protection and theft tracking) ftw!

Ouch, how come you can't use it in puerto rico? No signal or something, or just because your not "part of the continental north america"?

I figure it is. Free diagnostics, they can tell you where you are (when you pushed the button), handsfree calling (you have to buy minutes), remote assistance in case you lock yourself out or get your car stolen. My car emails me to tell me how its doing too. (electrical, emissions, oil life, air bag, tire moniter) First year is free anyway.
I signed up for my second year as well.

My car has it, but I don't have it activated or whatever. I got it used, so I didn't even get the trial period.

I'm sorry buddy, but a very large portion of drivers do not even know how many cylinders their own vehicle is. If what you said really applied, it would only be us car nuts driving (which wouldn't be a bad thing i don't think).

I got everything but onstar as well. I thought it would be cool to have if it was a free service, but since you have to pay for it, I wouldn't have it activated anyways. I'm about to cancel my XM subscription also, since I got my Zune (I have the aux. jack) I rarely listen to the radio, unless its O&A.

No onstar. My parents are big into buicks and cadillacs, they have it on their cars, but yeah...I didn't want it or XM radio, though I got the XMradio, its an added bonus, lol.

I don't want anything extra, I don't like having onstar on my car, I just like to have the car, drive it, and enjoy it, not all that extra BS!

Have it but cancelled it. The only thing that was useful was the remote lockout assistance. I have a bad habit of tossing my keys in the trunk when I'm unloading it, then closing the trunk with keys still inside. Although in 2 1/2 years I've only locked my keys in twice, so not nearly enough to pay for the service.

onstar was the only available option i didn't get. had a TomTom portable before i bought the balt and i think i make better use of it. onstar restricts you to your cobalt. a portable device can be brought in any vehicle or even walk around with. the only downside to the portable TomTom is you gota stick it to the winow and looks cluttered with my sirius portable radio also on the windshirld. to each his own.

I'm like most. Both balts have almost every option BUT Onstar. Even my black one that I ordered, I made sure it was ordered without Onstar.
I already have handsfree telephone. It's called a cellphone with bluetooth

Remember. You dont have to press the button for Onstar to know where your at. GM even sent a message to all dealers about the theft option that's available. If your car get stolen they can find your car for you and even put it on reduced power mode. Probably more stuff they aren't telling us

got it...I love it. only option I don't have is heated seats..but that's because I have the G85 Recaro seats. OnStar saved my ass a time or two. I also love the handsfree calling. no phone to my ear, no yuppie earpiece...i think it's awesome.

I have about every option including On Star and XM Radio. I had to buy in stock to get the 0% financing and both were on the SS SC we wanted, so we got it. I don't use either and have no plans to renew. We had On Star on a Tahoe a few years ago and it wasn't worth the money. Maybe it will help some on resale.

The only way I would be interested in On Star is if it was a lot cheaper or they had the option to charge by use, such as $10 to unlock the car, etc. XM Radio reminds me of elevator music and they don't have NASCAR races. If I could pull both them out and sell them, I would.

On a positive note, this is the first performance car I've had since the 60's now the kids have grown up, etc. and I'm glad to be back. We just put on a GMPP honed exhaust manifold and we got more HP/torque out of it than I thought we would. Stage II is next.

No Onstar for me. I have never locked my keys in my car if I do I deserve everything I get. If the car screws up thats why I have a cellphone I pay 50 bucks a month for. Navigation? Cellphone has that covered too. If anybody goes thru the trouble of stealing it, they can have it. Thats why I got insurance! Besides I don't like the idea of someone I don't know, knowing where I'm at, and "monitoring" me. To much like Big Brother...
