How many of you rev match?
i've been learning to heel toe, i hit the brake too hard though when i roll my foot over, its just weird right now. i've been getting a lot better at it too though and i try and use it every time i break and downshift.
So does that mean that you pop the clutch when downshifting??? Do you pop the clutch on every upshift???
I don't think so. We all ride the clutch a little bit. Well, I don't anymore, cuz I have a auto, but previous cars I rev matched, but didn't know it had a name.
Never heeltoe'd.

if you downshift w/o rev matching you have to ride the clutch, but if you rev match then you can just let it out smooth with no problems. only time you should be riding the clutch is in traffic
or in my case, getting up your really really steep driveway into the garage lol

1) push clutch
2) shift gears
3) slowly let up clutch till it engages and starts to correct the speed
4) let off clutch and go.
that process burns up your clutch. yes, it feels smooth, but it's not that good. that's the whole reason for rev matching.
as far as popping the clutch, on downshifts if you rev match you're barely on the clutch. upshifts, you're right i ride it out a little bit, mostly between 1st and 2nd on faster starts. on slow, "old lady" starts i do the same thing as downshift. shift gears, wait for the rpms to drop, release the clutch and go.
