So I am replacing the burnt out bulbs in the steering wheel controls on my 05' SS. I was told to just use a flat head screw driver to pry them out but I feel like I'm going to break something, and I'm not about that. So does anybody have a how to with pictures on how to take them out and what the clips look like? Searched the forum and could only find the 07-10 steering wheel controls removal. Any help would be awesome!

That's what I did and I could only find one result and that was the one telling me to pry it out with a screw driver.

 

oh ok well you see what they look like removed just try to get the screw driver in the right spot ...use a small screw driver, maybe two. they will pop out its not hard

Ya lol I was assuming this was obvious lol but ya never know.

 

Yup they just pop out. Two small flat screwdrivers work the best. You'll feel like you are going to break something before they come out. But don't worry you won't break anything.

 

Okay just wanted to make sure. As far as putting them back in, is it pretty much just popping them back into place?

 

Yes they actually just sit inside the steering wheel without snaps or anything but the friction of the soft steering wheel material around them to hold them in place.
