Ok well i just started to get into the hptuners world. What is the main things newbs and somewhat knowledgable people should know? Any input would be great! How it works, what specifically should we know about it, how it helps us with a upgraded stage 2 ect, ect. Thanks

The help file within HP Tuners is extremely helpful too. A lot of it was written by guys who actually use it. Most of it applies to v8s but can easily be applied to us too.

 

Anyone else active thiers for a 2.0 SS? I'm confused after reading thier info how that will work. Mine should be here in a few days. So, if I spend 6 credits I can get say all 2006 cobalts right? That will let me hook up anyones car as opposed the the 2 credits for just mine?
What else should we activate? I know the supercharger needs like a 1 credit upgrade. I know it would help me, if not him, to know where to put the credits. i don't want to have an accident with them.

 

you don't need any credit upgrade for the supercharger. 2 credits unlocks 1 vehicle, 6 credits unlocks one year of a certain vehicle

 

It looks you might want speed density bars. That is why I wondered what people usually got when they activated. It mentions the supercharger there. From the FAQ it seems to suggest that high boost mods will show more accurate data with the SD bars. It also seems to say that any MAF errors will be corrected with the SD activation. So, in the case of tuning errors with non-stock intakes... I'm thinking these sensors would compensate right?

Thanks for the above answer though. I really didn't see how 6 credits did the whole year while 2 did one car. It seemed to not equal out in the long run to do one car. Now I know it means what I says. I mean it just seemed like too good of a deal to have been reading it right considering.

 

How many credits dose it come with when you buy it and do you need to buy more ot unlock the whole year?

I have a freind with an 06 also and would like to be able to tune his car as well as mine.

It comes with 8 credits out of the box, thats enought to tune 4 cars. Purchasing more credits depends on what engine you are buying for. It takes less credits to tune an LSJ than it does an LS1. I would highly recommend doing A LOT of reading before u start tuning your car. The HP Tuners forum is a great place to read and ask questions and learn! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!
