I found these in my closet...

I attended what was probably PA's biggest import car show early last summer. As always, they give away all sorts of random crap. Flyers, coupons, car wipes, the like. Well I found my bag the other day, and inside I saw a few Cobalt ads. These must've been pre-production. I think I've seen the s/c one before, but I've never seen the other. Check 'em out!

The pre-production SS s/c. Notice the Racing Hart rims.

The pre-production LS...er...SS n/a...er...I have no idea. Notice the SS n/a specific rear bumper and exhaust tip. It even has the SS badging on the door (correct placement) and on the trunk (improper placement). It has different wheels though. Thinner spoked style.

I do like the rims, but I'm glad the went the way they did with the final design. Those rims have a pretty run-of-the mill look these days while the SS/SC rim is like nothing out there.

Plus I like the color that GM chose for the final production SS/SC wheels.

The top SS/SC is the one I sat in at the auto show when this car wasn't a reality. That day I told the GM guy if it comes out I am buying this car. I knew it wouldn't come with those rims as no auto show cars come with the rims they have on them. It was very exciting the day I picked it up and my dream became reality. I love those rims though. I like ours also but I am more of a fan of thinner spoke 5 stars. The real fancy rims should be left to early model years and SUV's IMO. Nothing looks more gay to me than a sport car with spinners. Or a sport car with 22's that looks like a monster truck.

WHY MUST GM TAUNT US! They have the rights to the Racing Hart C5's, yet never went with them. Grr.. Ok, I'm done.

Nice find tho. I never saw the SS 2.4 pre-production car.

I have the top one pinned to my wall above my bedroom closet. and the lower one i wish i had, but i have a small print of it pinned on my wall above my guitar.

I actually have another one, it says American Revolution on the bottom and has the 2005 cobalt ls "sport" coupe in red. probabloy nothin special, but i thought i'd throw it out there.

Yeah I love those 2.4 ss wheels! I wish they were an option!
