I need opinions, please

hey everyone,

I'm on the verge of oredering a 06 cobalt ss s/c.

I thought the only colors for this year (as told to me by my dealer, and also as shown in all dealer inventories in my area up to last week) were black red and silver. I really like the arrival blue, and now it's showing as an optional color in the ss s/c. I think i'm going to get that.

The main thing that i can't decide is whether the performance package with the RECARO stuff is worth the $1,500 USD. Any opinions from anyone (preferrably if you have RECARO) but if not, any opinions will be great.

Thanks,
-mike

Arrival Blue was discontinued for most 06 models. Laser blue is now offered but it is not as nice looking in my opinion.

The G85 package definitely is worth the money considering the LSD alone is worth that amount.

Nice find

I recommend the Arrival Blue (which now bears some exclusivity), but you should get a look at both before you decide.

Yeah, i pretty much want that car, except take away the XM satellite radio, and add the performance package. It lists at something like 24,610, but my mom is a GM employee so the dealer quoted me $20,795 on the Associate plan. I'm probably out the door at $22,000.

I gotta finance some of it, but i'm psyched.!!!!

Congrats on the decision. That color blue is very nice and I would have gotten that color too if they would have done the employee discount on the '06 models too.

yeah, i would not be able to afford this car if my mom did not work for gm. I have been saving for a long time and worked my butt off to get a full scholarship for college, so i am scraping all of the money i have together for this car. thanks for all of the positive feedback.

while we are all mentioning the g85 package, does anyone know if it can be purchased AFTER already owning a ss/sc? when I was getting my car here in phx there were NO cars that carried the package i waited 2 months and still nothing ... then one day a dealer had it but EVERYTHING was on it and they wanted 27000 for the car. I was like HOLY FACKIN SH*T i told the dude why would i pay for that when I could get an EVO for nearly the same price and he was like um this is a nicer car and its fast ... you can tell the gears dont work with all salesmen. Anyway needless to say I didn't get the package and about 2 months after owning my car they re released the gm discount and finally there were more with the g85 showing up /sigh

I just bought 2006 SS/SC, with Recaro SS seats and all options. Nice seats but cheesy hieght/lower adjustment, ratchet system. However, with the actual GM discount came to $20,150. Excellent $ for waht you are getting. Car is awesome.

That's not a Recaro exclusive, the stockers have the same thing.

the arrival blue is nice looking and even better in in-direct lighting because of the metalic paint but my girlfriend said I shouldn't get it cus it would make me look g*y so I ended up with a black one after the choices came down to a red or black one

this is the exact situation. they made the first few (yes few) of the 06 ss s/c in ARRIVAL blue, but now they are using LASER blue. dealer wouldn't tell me why, but they said there are NO MORE arrival blues being made so whatever's out there is out there. That's why i hope i can get this one...

also, you can get all of the things in this package after market. the seats retail for about 600 each, and the performance/antislip is about 1,300 so you save about 500-600 dollars if you but it directly.
