I spotted an SS (maybe modded)

I work at the Ren Cen in detroit, which is basically GM world headquarters. I park in the same lot as a lot of the higher ups, who get company cars. Usually the cars are whatever GM has that's new, and it doesn't have to be out yet. I've seen C6's and GTO's in that lot long before I ever saw them on the road.

Well last night, I saw a red Cobalt SS at work. And not only that, it appeared to have an upgraded intercooler. The intercooler was silver, and the pictures on this site show the intercooler as painted black. My guess is this would be one of the "stage" upgrades. Anyway, the car looked awesome. I didn't even recognize it as a cobalt, but it definitely made me turn my head. Looks much better in person. If I see it again I'll make sure to stop and get a closer look today.

thats cool that you saw one. The intercooler I have seen in all the pictures though has been silver. The grill on the cars have been black

ok, so maybe not modded. It just stood out as one of those things that you see and say it looks obviously aftermarket. Maybe it is just quite visible. I looked for it today, and I brought my camera, but it's supposed to snow so maybe it was left at home. I'll keep looking though.

if you can see the intercooler, you must be superman. It's not a front mount. Congrats you seen a radiator.

haha makes sense I wasnt sure if the intercooler was on the front or not. I havent been able to personally see one with the engine bay open yet. But still thats cool that you saw one even if its not modded

your right, i'm a dummy. It was the heat exchanger or radiator. Not 100% sure if the intercooler is cooled through it's own heat exchanger, or the coolant runs through the radiator or not. I thought I heard an upgraded heat exchanger, which is really an upgrade to the intercooler, was available through the stage kits.

I also took a closer look, and in the pics from the pics section you can see it's silver, but what I saw was more silver than what was in the pics. At least more noticeable. Perhaps the shadows in the pictures don't show what it really looks like.

actually, here's a few better pictures which shows what I mean by "silver"

This also confirms that the car was stock. Still sweet though.
