Note that they rate this in PS, and that is not the same as a SAE HP unit (And the reason why they quote the LS2 has having 420HP when its actually ~400HP here). 540HP(ps) is equal to about 530HP. Its not that big a difference, but still worth the note.

Its a real shame this car weighs 4,000lbs. If it was lighter it would be a corvette competitor. As it is, with 530HP it still slower then the new 2008 Corvette with the LS3 (and alot slower then the Z06). The Pontiac G8 is just as heavy. You would think they would spend a couple thousand extra to make the car lighter with more advanced materials or lighter seats/interior on the top model (like the do with the Z06). A good design that incorporates lighter elements will not only mean a faster car, but it often means better looks and design.

I wonder how much boost its running and if the supercharger comes maxed out already. If not im assuming pulleys will follow :-P

I was just got back from Scotland 10 days ago after a 2 week trip. I have to say that the Vauxhall Vectra, which looks a lot like this car, was my favorite car.

Almost every time I saw a car and was like "**** that's sweet" it was the Vectra. The car that's supercharged looks a lot like it.

European cars kicked ass. They are way more styling. I'd actually drive a little turbo diesel here in North America is they looked as cool as the Puegots, Vauxhalls, Citroens, etc that they have in Europe.

I believe that is one of the new engine designs with the SC built into the intake manifold. Much like the turbo was built into the exhaust manifold on the PT Cruiser. You can't really do much to it unless you change the whole thing.

that's b/c there are no emissions standards in austrailia.... their cars can have massive pollution belching v8's with no problems.

what wouldn't you be able to do? It uses an m112 so i doubt its built into the intake mani anyway, but even if it is, you can still do just as much with it as you coul without it being one piece with the intake mani...Think about it, what are you thinking wouldnt be possible because of this? Swapping pulleys? No thats still easily doable...swapping out to a twin-screw? Well a twin-screw will replace the intake manifold anyway...
