I would have waited a year and bought an 06 GTO. 6 sp man. 18" wheel option, and blue with the blue interior. I would have bought it last year if I had the money then.

The other two cars I was seriously considering were a 2005 Dodge Neon SRT-4 and a 2006 VW GTI.

Cobalt won out.

Either a T/A WS6, Silverado SS, Ford Lightning, or used Evo.

before I bought the cobalt when I was looking around, I found good prices on:

2002 VW Jetta 1.8T
2002 Evo VIII
2000 WRX

but in the end...the supercharger was taken over the turbocharger

I was looking at the Acura RSX TYPE-S, Eclipse spider, or the RX8
I didn't like the SRT-4 i just wasn't comfortable in it

I also looked at the 06 Eclipse v6 Gt when I was on the new car hunt. I may have ended up purchasing that car if they could have got me the orange one with the terra cotta interior. Now I am kinda glad things went the way they did. Got the Cobalt & was able to keep my Jeep instead of trading it in...,

My list was Cobalt SS, SRT4, WRX, RSX-S

More than likely would have waited for an 06 WRX

I probably would have went with a used camaro....I want the 02' anniversary edition so bad...but they're hard to find. I ended up buying the cobalt as the grocery getter and because there was already something fun in the driveway. Ultimately I would have bought back what my fiance traded in if I could find the damn thing....
