Ignition recall

Saw a thing on abc news this morning for 05-07 cobalts and g5s for ignition switch recall. Says the weight from a key ring is enough to cause the ignition switch to break co tack and stall turn the car off. Something like 22 crashes from it.
Funny mine stalled yesterday but I thought it was my fault for trying to hammer on it I've cold to get threw traffic...

^ This. If you came in for an oil change I'd research the VIN# and perform all recalls I could find and notify the customer they had been done. Customers loved it too.

Interesting, car has shut off before after my knee bumped into the keychain. Hasn't happened in a long while though. Guess i'll get the recall done soon!

I think I got a letter in the mail about my ignition needing replacement. got it last year but I dont think ita the same recall as this because it was about the key getting locked in the ignition not shutting off.

I keep my ignition key separate from other keys due to this issue. Any weight more than needed on the ignition is bad news. Ask any mechanic. That's the typical cause of failure of this component. I'll wait to see if I get a letter though and get it done. If it's free its for me.

I will be posting up some information on this. Not all the info has been released to us as of yet. This is normal, the media always gets it before us.
Anyways. I will post up the info when i get it, and we will want your VIN to see if your vehicle is involved and you will be able to have us do the work at any time or even better yet if your from out of town and coming to the CED meet in June you can have it done then.

Oooor, fix your giant keyring problem. There's no reason to have 20 keys on one keyring, I had 6+remote and have never had an issue on any of the 3 cobalts I've owned.

I have noticed my ignition switch is hanging when I am starting the car. It kinda takes over a mind of it's own.
