I'm New and need help
Hey guys im new to this site and im actually looking at buying a cobalt from a dealer now but i thought i would get some information from people who actually drive them first..
2007 Chevrolet Cobalt SS STOCK# M11502 - Details - Penney Pre-Owned - auto123.com
thats the actual car im looking at to buy.. its a le5 so its not super charged i was told. im not looking for anything super fast. i have a ford focus zx4 which is 136 hp and im told the cobalt is 170 something. i find my focus is fast enough now, so im going for more style than speed.. i plan on some aftermarket part but mostly style...that car i noticed has straches on the wheels and little bit on body but small, but on the inside of the car theres deep stratches on door.. would it cost much to get this all fix?
and my main question is how reliable is it as a all year around car, would i be there be many issues?
thanks for all the help

Anyways the Cobalts are good cars and mine has been excellent in the snow. The deepest snow I've driven in is probably around 5-6 inches. And it handled exceptionally well. And since your going more for style then looks I think that's a perfect car for you because it has a good foundation to work with. Depending on your tastes.
welcome to the forums. They're reliable economy cars. Is it going to be a fast car??? Well, that's just a relative term. It has potential to become a fast car, but will it be faster than your focus? IDK, I've never driven your focus before, or any other focus out there.

That cobalt will be faster then any stock non-rally Focus - noticeably faster.
I will say, though, that while it depends on the area a bit.. I bought my SS Supercharged '06 with less miles for about the same price - with leather, premium sound, and almost every option except for a sunroof.
Sticks aren't for everyone, and this is my first manual car, but after a couple of days of playing around with a friend's Jeep I got it home from 3 hours away just fine. It took a few hundred miles but I'm comfortable driving it now and find it a lot more fun (and fuel efficient when I want it to be). I'm still happy with my purchase a month and a half later. I had a couple of small interior issues that I discovered on my way home and fixed for about $100, but that's to be expected with any (American) used car.

Anyway to the OP don't pay more then 8.5k for that car. You can find SS/SC on here for less then the 2.4 you're looking at. Also White FTW
a few hundred miles to get comfortable with driving a stick? that poor clutch.
you fail. Buy a stick and spend 30 minutes in an empty parking lot. You'll learn quick. Any retard can drive stick.
I didn't say I was out racing the thing on a track already (although it's been about 3k miles now), but it isn't exactly rocket science for daily driving.
that's true but their is a BIG difference between driving a stick and driving a stick well.
Completely agree, but anyone can drive stick "well" if they are given enough time - I guess it depends on your definition. I could teach a grandmother to drive stick "well" as in "efficient and non-damaging to the car", but I wouldn't expect her to ever take it to a drag strip for obvious reasons.
case and point.
thanks alot guys, most of you are very helpful lol and i know that alot of people love standards but i would rather a automatic, its just preference...
does anyone know any good questions that i should ask the dealer about the car befor i actually buy it if i do? and does anyone know the MPG on a le5? i've tried looking buy cant find it.
