Installed engine block heater today/first oil change
I bought a GM engine block heater some time ago and figured when I got around to doing my first oil change I would install it. It is a bitch to do from above so while the car was up on the hoist, I had my mechanic put it in for me. Fits perfectly. Also, I have seen alot of debate about how much oil the car takes. Since in Canada we go by litres, its exactly 6.4L
I did a complete drain, let it sit for 20 minutes, then put in 5.4L of oil, dipstick read full, started up the car for 15 seconds, shut it off, checked oil level again, went right back down below the first notch. Added another litre and we are in business. I also had my calipers/caliper brackes buffed by a high speed plastic bit. Gave them a nice shiny look, then I clear coated them. Was a great weekend for the Cobalt SS/SC

I did it while I was at the shop. My guy is a single man operation, a good friend, so I do whatever I want when I am there. Took the wheels off, buffed them up, gave them 2 coats of clear coat. Will take a picture tonight and post it.
