Installing Lowering Springs

My car is in the shop right now getting a new clutch installed and my lowering springs come in tomorrow. I figured, how about they install the new springs while they're at it.

So I call and tell them the brand and how much the advertised drop in inches is.

The guy says no way. He said "The lowering springs will screw up your transmission so we won't install then for you and they will void your warranty.

The car is at a Chevy dealer so yeah...is that statement true? I call bullshit...

unless they mean changing the driveline angles causing vibration then i don't see what they are talking about.

nope not true. Hell, the dealership transfered mine from my old car to my new one when I bought it for me. They're either just talking out their ass, or are extremely stupid. Tons of us on here have lowering springs and I bet none of us have ever had them cause a transmission problem

nope, but dealers generally don't like to install aftermarket parts. it's better off anyways, you should NEVER go to the dealer for anything that's not warranty work. Pick up a haynes manual, and try to do it yourself. It's simple. Everyone i've helped with springs always says they couldn't believe how simple it was. No sense in paying someone else to do it, especially not a dealer.

if you have accss to a jack ( even the one that comes with the car will work ) and go to your local autozone, you can drop your car for free in your own driveway. it took me about 45 minutes to do mine. alignment will depend where you go but shouldnt be much.

lol id go to that dealership where your car is and laugh at them on your way out the door.

Not sure about installation as I have friends who will do it for a pizza and some beer but an alignment runs from 40 (a local little shop that does pretty good work around me) to 70-80ish at bigger places. And I think its firestone does a lifetime alignment for 140, as many as you ever need.
