you would have to buy the adapter plate from Crate engine depot

on top of that, you'd have to custom make an adaptor for the 2.2 manifold to meet with the 2.4 t/b

So you are going to stick your sister with your crappy left overs?

Anyway, as mentioned, you would need a mounting adapter, which CED does make. But your sister would need one too, and CED doesn't make one for that. Nobody does. It wouldn't make sense.

lol that halfcent was the only one questioning you stealing your sisters manifold.

The CED kit comes not only with the throttle body adapter plate but also the 2.4 brake booster hose because the 2.2 one is to short to work with the 2.4 manifold. You need to cut the 2.2 hose and connect it to half of the 2.4 hose.

The adapter plate is ~$34 I think. But that does not include the 2.4 brake booster hose.

And again, doing so would leave your sister without a working car because you wouldn't be able to put the L61 manifold onto her LE5 engine and TB.

Dude... don't **** your sister's car up... that's just wrong. If I was her I'd beat your ass just for thinking of it.

Maybe I am superbly over simplifying this. but if the adapter is designed to connect the opening of the TB to the Intake mnaifold, so wouldn't the reverse work? I mean, you are still connecting on the same bolt pattern and connect the same inlet to outlet, just reversed.

BTW... this is the first story I have heard of the sister having a higher version than the brother. lol

yeah she is spoiled. she got to pick out her car and get a lease on it but i got a slower car that i could mod. so its somewhat even. so is the swap possible??

A swap is possible with the other parts from the kit. Forget about the manifold though and start looking into getting an intake (CAI or SRI) and exhaust components (header, downpipe, cat-back).

Okay, here is how the adapter thing works.

The TB's on the two cars are different. They have a different bolt pattern for mounting. There is an adapter kit sold by CED that allows the L61 TB to mount correctly to the LE5 manifold. But that kit would not "necessarily" work in reverse. Meaning, it probably won't allow an LE5 TB to mount up to an L61 manifold. Can it? I don't know for sure, it wasn't made for that.

Here is what I know for certain. There is one hole (out of the total 4) that is in a different place between the two. The adapter allows you to put a screw in both. One goes in the Manifold, the other goes into the TB. Now if you reverse that, it is possible the screw that goes into the manifold will now interfere with the mounting of the TB.

To be absolutely sure, you would have to actually get a kit (2 in your case), and see if it fits.

But still, dude, you are totally jacking your sisters car. Just buy one for yourself.
