Would the injen intake fit/work on my LS sedan. Also what are the steps to installing the beast. Thanks

 

I would assume if it fits under the hood of the coupe it should fit the sedan as well...I don't believe the engine layout is any different between the two. As for the steps I've never personally done it myself but I believe it's basically remove factory air system, and attach the short ram portion of the intake. After that either pull your front bumper or remove the wheel well walls and attach the remaining pipe for the full CAI version. Attach the filter to the tubing, hook up the sensor to the intake and you're done.

Hopefully someone with slightly more experience replies but I can't imagine there's much more to it than that . As for the fit, maybe e-mail Injen or call them to be 100% sure but like I said I can't imagine there's any differences under the hood between the coupe and sedan.

I installed the Injen intake on my base sedan. All you have to do is remove the stock airbox, and install the new intake. Its really simple, and there are step-by-step instructions included. I removed the front passenger wheel and wheel well to install the cold air extention instead of taking off the bumper cover.

 

Dose it sound any different, any performace differance?

 

You can hear the sound difference once you get up to around 3000 rpm and above, and it sounds great. I have also noticed a definite power difference too.

 

What warrenties does it void? Also should i use the extension or use shortram, what are the + and _'s of the two. Thanks

 

The short ram will have less pergormance then the full CAI since the short ram pulls hotter air from the engine bay where the extension will draw from outside air.

 

As Chevypowered said the full CAI should give you better performance, especially in the hotter months of the summer since it's pulling air in from underneath the car as opposed to from the engine bay where heat is already circulating. The nice feature of the Injen is in the winter time you can convert it back to a short ram if you're worried about the filter being trashed by salt and sand as well as pulling in additional moisture. As well, with the short ram version the filter is easier to access and therefore easier to clean whereas in the CAI version you're going to have to remove your wheel wall or bumper each time to clean it .

As for warranties, no warranty is voided unless the aftermarket part is shown to be the cause of the problem. For example, after installing/cleaning the filter your check engine light comes on and the service department finds your sensor is covered in oil...this will not be covered as the aftermarket part directly caused this fault. Depending on your service department it shouldn't be a big deal, just make sure you follow the directions when cleaning the filter and re-applying the oil .
