Interior cabin air filter!! and minor rant.

Well this past weekend I was bored doing security (I sit in my car) and so I look at my cabin air filter.. Yikes and wtf? Whata cheap POS for one. Then I decided to go see what the thing cost. $38 plus tax I think they charge you for the big box it comes in too

I thought Honda accesories were expensive! But a Honda cabin filter at least has a plastic trim around the leading edge. Sorry guys/gals but this GM owner is getting tired of all this little crap we have to deal with! This is my first and certainly my last domestic vehicle I ever own I have more rants about this car but will shut my pie hole

I'm starting to feel the same way.. can't even add 100hp over stock w/o blowing up. the ss s/c was a mistake by GM. it should have been the ss t/c

or the ss not at all, so i could have gotten a damn srt-4 and actually had a fast modded car

if you mod the car correctly theres no reason for it to blow

Wow, crying about domestics over a cabin filter? If you would actually look around you can find them for less than $25.

lol. My dealer wanted to charge me $90+ to change mine. $70+ to buy the filter from them. I had a good laugh and told them i'd change it myself. . Ill probably look around some stores tomorrow.

I will admit, there are some things about this car that do seem poorly designed, but if you look at each component piece for piece the car has alot of potential. What I'm saying is that the SRT-4 can be made faster easier from the factory, but I believe with some money in the Ecotec it has almost as much potential as the 2.4l in the SRT4.

Forged crank and rods
sodium filled exhaust valves
roller followers
water to air intercooler
Coil on plug ignition
etc.

What I have heard some people do, and I will probably try myself, is to go to home depot and buy a filter for your home. Grab your car filter and cut it to size from your bigger home filter. Pop it in and you are good to go.

I'm just ranting sorta cause I've owned enough cars to make me puke and again this is really my first domestic, I do love the engine The 2.4L I mean! Its just the **** inside the car that pisses me off! Inside the cabin I mean.

My mother actually came up with a good idea for replacing the cabin air filter, use or if you can find a K&N air filter maybe? **** that'll add 5hp just to my car alone Again love and hate the car.. We have to think we spend alot of time inside our cars and thats what we deal with and experience first hand.. Anyways be good all

and the blame it on the car/company.

maybe its just me... but. really, i didn't find the Acuras/Hondas, Toyotas and Nissans (i did like the Sentra SE-R Spec V) to be all that much better than my car on the inside. Plastic is plastic to me... i spend alot of time in my Cobalts... my only bitch (and this is only because I am 300lbs) is that I would've liked the seat to be bolstered a little firmer. But any normal sized person doesn't ahve this problem, so a moot bitch it is.

Its a good thing you added the smiley because otherwise people are likely to take you serious and think it really does add HP.

Maybe you should drive an aveo.......they are made in Korea, and are imports.

Or take your Cobalt to Japan, where it then becomes an import, and miraculously gains gobbs of quality and holds its resale value!

I find it very funny that TheDriver came on to bash the airfilter, and it ends up being one of the things the cobalt was recignized for OVER THE IMPORTS! lol be it a small pos, its kinda funny.

but you have to admit this is a bit ironic too:

"worst interior air quality included the Chevy Aveo"
