interior neon

sup peeps hey i was thinking about doing the interior neon mod and i was wondering if ne one has wired the neons up to come on when u open a door and also put a switch on them so u can turn them on when ever you want to? if so howd u do it??

I have one under each the driver & passenger footwell's, but I still use the power outlets in the car, i still have yet to wire them up to a switch. I'll be doing that soon.

i spliced mine into my power outlet by our stick shift since i dont use that outlet and then put a switch by the little space by our E brake

If you want them to come on when you open the door and whatnot, you need to wire them up to the same power sorce as the lights inside the car. I'm not sure if you can just run it off the fuse or not. As far as also going on with a switch, in that case hook it up to an unswitched power sorce (running off the cigarette lighter will do fine) as well, and run a switch. If you do it right, the lights will come on when the doors open, or with a switch.

You could also run it off of the door trigger wire, which should be in the DS kick panel. Otherwise, you'd surely find it at the BCM (Body Control Module). Check polarity either way and you're ready for the wire routing fun--
