The Job Thread
i'm currently in my 8th year of landscaping/lawn maintenance which i've done through senior year in HS, through college, and now my second year of full-time until i finally get a chance to put my Civil Engineering degree to use. but when it comes to mods i told myself i'm done and the car is just my DD, only thing is i may have to get rotated trans mounts to get rid of this axle bind
I work at the largest printing shop in town. The owner is a good family friend so I decided I liked the things he has and want thing like that someday
It sounds lame, but isn't bad. Its not just like paper and **** lol, we do a lot of vehicle wraps and lots of large format things, which are my favorite. I started out in production and worked a little in every department besides art/graphic design and have been a sales rep for a few months now. The plan is for me to be the sales manager/marketing director in a few years, and I'm going to hold them to that! Started.....started....lol.
I'm 23 and I don't make a whole lot yet, but with work and my little automotive side projects I have I should make about $40-42k by the years end. Also, I am really good at saving money. I went through a break up after 4.5 years and then had to pay the lease on my apartment alone for 6 months and had to buy her out of all the stuff we bought, but have moved in with a friend now, so I can save decent again. I prefer pay for everything in cash, or at least not buy something if I can't currently afford it. I buy all my parts outright and paid cash for the car I just bought, its just easier that way, but thats just my view.

Butcher, mod when I have spare money. Never finance mods, I'd think you'd have to be pretty dumb to take loans to do extras to a car. Had around 10k in my old SS, probably never get that careless again for awhile lol. Only thing I have done care wise aside from maintenance is an exhaust for the miata
I own a roof cleaning company, G&S Roof Cleaning that we started 3 years ago. I haven't taken a pay check since I started because I'm trying to get it paid off but it will be finished in the next 30 days which I'm extremely excited for since it's been 95% of my stress I've been dealing with.
On the side I do computer building, car detailing and then my aunt owns an abstracting company that I try to get a few hours in every week.
Realistically, since I put all my money into my business and don't have much time to do other work I think up to this point I've only collected maybe $6,000 this year and that majority of that has been from January to March before roof cleaning started. Sadly.
Glad to see most people are doing a little better than I am.

Just finishing a season of being a stucco labourer.
Gonna try to get back into a body shop as soon as the snow falls. Think it's what I wanna do long term. Went to a vocational high school and majored in auto body. Also spent a year in a half in a shop before getting laid off.

For side work I do some auto stuff. Mostly repairs.paint jobs for friends, so that doesn't pay like it should. Tattoos, but my wife just blew up my machine. Need a new one.
I've been thinking about plastidip and/or headlights and tail lights. Need someone with experience to chime in and offer support or wanting a piece of it in Canada.

I'm in a union for the first time in my life. Been rhere for 6 years. I fu**ing hate unions. Work hard only to reap the same benefits as those who know nothing and do nothing. I'm a professional. And it shows in my jobs. The other guys fu** up almost everyday, costing thousands every year. But they don't get shut cause the union protects them.
