Unhappy Just got my build date...

Finally the dealer called me back and let me know my Cobalt should begin production on Jan. 1 or Jan. 2. I ordered it on November 14th, exactly a month ago. Now they say I probably won't get it until about the middle of February. Three freaking months... that's ridiculous. One of the reasons I didn't want a GTO is how long I'd have to wait to get it... but... this doesn't seem too damn much quicker.

Argh. At least it'll arrive with most of Winter over with. Better get those new tires for the Buick.

That's impossible. GM workers don't return from holiday leave until Jan 3.

I ordered mine on Nov. 5th, hoping that I would get it late December/Early January. I work for a Chevy Dealership and one of our salesmen that's in charge of our ordering had just received my confirmation on Friday that my Cobalt order was finally received. Cobalts are on backorder right now, and I forget how many he said were currently being built but it's like a ridiculous amount. We're supposed to be getting my build date sometime this week hopefully. But I didn't even know this until I had talked to the salesmen on Friday, but dealers can't even order Cobalt SS S/C's for stock for their lots right now. They can only order them if they are sold units. I'm still waiting for my build date. Even though I'm anxious to get it, I'm also glad it's taking a lil while - not looking forward to having to drive it in this nasty weather.

call me a freek, but i think you will have good luck with your car. You ordered your 2.4 on the 24th. and your join date is when I turned 19. The number 23 is my lucky number and it brings me good luck. Hell its even in my powerball ticket!
well i hope the 2.4 i want is on the lot, cuz these delays are rediculus...

I don't think there's an exact time it takes to build them, but the owner of the dealership I work at told me that the reason it took my order so long to go through was because there's such a long waiting list. I ordered mine on November 5th and it took until yesterday that I found out the build date & del. date. The dealership should call you and tell you when they get the build date and delivery date. Maybe you'll be lucky....good luck!
