Just Installed Intake

I just installed my injen intake and it was the best money ever spent. I love that whine and cannot keep my rpms under 4000, going through gas like a son of a bitch but man i love that whine, driving down the road I see people looking aroudn tring to figure out were that is coming from. I highly recomend getting an intake for your ss/sc if you do not already

I'm waiting on my torque damper to get here so I can get it in, then I'll start working on some performance mods Injen intake will definitely be the first, and then I'll save a bit for my S2/DP/H/E.

How much of an whine do you get with the Injen? I've watched some videos and listened, but it's never as good as the opinions from people who actually have it installed.

That was the only problem I had when I put mine in. Gas mileage went to **** cause I couldn't seem to keep my foot off the floor. Its a great feeling though. Love the sound. And when you figure out how to remove that lead weight from your right foot, your gas mileage will actually go UP!

Does the injen, or any intake for that matter actually sound louder/better then just doing the airbox mod.... is any power gained from an intake vs. the airbox mod?

You might get a bit louder with a metal intake, because of the material used, but not a whole lot of difference.

No there is no performance gains, since you are still bringing in fresh air through the same type of filter.

While driving after after a rainstorm a coupe of weeks ago, I was going to swerve after seeing a pool of water in front of me!

But I remembered I had the stock intake ... so I just went straight through it.

True, that will help a little.

I had a CAI on a Focus ST I used to own, but it did nothing but make me nervous when driving in wet weather.

I promised myself that I would never again get another CAI. It only dropped my 1/4 mile time 1/10 sec., so for me, I didn't think it was worth the hassle/worry.

Lata ...

did you remove the bumper or did you go through the wheel well? I bought an injen intake that I am probably going to install this weekend - trying to decide on which approach will be better.

Search the how-to threads on this site. Theres a couple that are really good for installing the Injen.

Wheel well. about 10 screws or so

Its not an Injen. I opted not to pay 150 more for the Injen decal.

This is the one I bought. I would recommend them, as long as you dont mind hacking about an inch off the filter end to get it to fit nicely. if your realy ****, you can buy different filter and still save a bundle

Does NOT cause CEL.

To be honest i didnt install the intake Ive been dealing with this garage for awhile and went to get an oil change and told him about the intake i just bought and he said bring it in for the oil change and theyd install it for free but im pretty sure they said they had to go in through the bumper because they could squeeze it in the other way. And injen does not thow ne CEL's if you disconnect the negative terminal ofbattery

Keep it clean and if you got the K&N type airfilter reoil it every oil change you get done helps keep the filter a longer time last a lot longer
