Hey guys,

I was at the dealership yesterday...and finally sat in a 2007 ss/sc in the dark red sport tint. Jesus...I FELL IN LOVE with that thing! But im just curious, how much are you guys paying a month for your payments? This is a lot of car, but I dont know if its worth all that money.

Good luck with your decision, but this question is kinda silly as you will get answers ranging from $200-$600. There are alot of things to consider; interest rate at the time, downpayment, willing to deal from dealership, cost of car with different options, etc.

My advice, don't ask us, go in and ask the dealer what you could get it for and find out. You don't have to commit before you find out the price. If you don't like it or can't afford the payments, say thank you and walk out. Only you can say wether it is worth your money.

Again, good luck with your decision.

I agree 100%; asking about payments is a lot like asking about insurance. What people pay depends on many, many things!

well im in the same situation. did you still owe money on the car you traded in? if so, how did you and the dealership come to an agreement?

I do agree with you guys a lot. I went down to the dealer ship, and the guy explained to me that it would be about 100 dollars more since i would be doubling the amount financed. Also, how long are your guys terms of payments? The guy at my dealership said he can get to 84 months. JEEZ thats a long time. If i dont go with the ss/sc, i think i might go for something cheaper and nice as well, anyone have any suggestions on things to look into?

84 months!! I bought mine on a 36-month term. If the SS/SC is a little to expensive for you, what about the SS? You want a new car, or would you settle for a used?

I pay $400 a month, but I also lost a lot of money on my trade-in and I didn't want to finance it for 7 years.

My insurance is only $100 a month though. Clean driving record FTW!!

LOL I pay nothing a month - car is paid off. My "payment" was $156/month, but usually I'd pay between $250-300 a month then got some extra money and paid the sucker off.

But yeah, depends a lot on your age, your credit, what kind of financing they can get you, how long of a term you have, blah blah blah.

BTW you need to look at TOTAL COST, not what your payment can be. Any dealer can give you a great monthly payment, but what you don't realize is that with interest and lower payments (meaning more left on the principal), you'll end up owning a $30,000 Cobalt...

Interest rates are high for people with good credit on used cars right now too. %7.5 average I believe.

man i would take one used, the thing is... its hard to find a ss/sc used. Yea i agree...i think im gunna have to either find a cheaper car (scion, honda, pontiac), or just wait around and see if i can find a used one. If not...ill just have to keep my yellow 03 cavalier ls sport. so sad.

You dont want to know what I am paying a month

I was so upside down I had no buisness even thinking about the car..... but, I had to have it and havent looked back or regreted it since.

I would say if you can get $400.00 a month on a 60 month loan, then you will be getting a good deal. (thats with nothing down and no trade in)

To the OP, do you have money to put down?
The more you put down, the lower your payments will go!

Also, have you thought about leasing?
