Unhappy Keep LSJ or Get LNF

So I'm at a crossroad with the Balt. I have had the lsj for a long time about 8 years now. It's been a trooper till recent event. So long story short I have dumped a bunch of money into the lsj. Recently it's all new brakes, rotors, fuel pump, clutch, flywheel, injectors, pulley, slave cylinder, sensor, and engine is new to me less than 500 miles on everything. Had this shop install everything now the motor has fried rings. The shop says it's the tune and doesn't want to fix it. Right now I'm in the middle of trying to get them to fix it. I've paid a bunch already now they said If pay for another motor and they will install for free. But idk I'm just tired of dealing with them.

So here are the choices keep the lsj and get it fixed or I have a chance to get an lnf from a member on here. Here is the info on the lnf

2009 VR lnf coupe in mint condition has about 45k on it. Has charge pipes, catless DP straight pipe all the way back, ssc Spring, depo headlights. I think that's about it. So if I get the lnf I would switch out some item from the lsj like pedder CA, varresteon es2, Ottp sts, cf trunk, and some pod gauges and that's about it.

What do you guys think? Keep lsj and fix or get lnf and part out and sell lsj. If I sell lsj next owner will only have to drop about 2k. If they do the work them selfs. I'm not to good getting deeper into mechanics otherwise I would fix it myself.

Dibs on the trunk. I'd personally part with the lsj

Get LNF for DD status

Fix LSJ for weekend warrior.

I know what you are feeling. I felt the same way when cylinder 4 ringland died in my STi. but I rebuilt it and I'm glad I did.

Either fix the LSJ or sell it and get something totally different.

I guess it depends how much you like the cobalt.. You get the LNF and you will have the same minor issues (CABs, creaks and rattles etc).

However, the 09 is significantly better (leaps and bounds IMO) for driving then the LSJ. So I would drive it and see what you think.

So today I picked up and drove the LNF OMG. It's so much different than the LSJ. Like day and night tough choices.

Fix the LSJ cause a part-out wont help too greatly with what you invested, plus it will be a struggle to sell a car with a hurt engine. Fix it, and either sell it or keep it. Or be a fool like me and buy cars and don't sell others lol.

You've sunk a ton into your car. Plus our cars are worth almost nothing now you'd be dumb to sell it for another Cobalt even if it's a better DD.

Yea I have sunk a lot of money in this biatch. I'm just getting so tired of it. I have a DD so I just want some fun weekend warrior. I might wait save some money and get the engine rebuild. Mostly everything on the lsj is new has less than 400miles on everything installed. I tell you what though I have been driving the lnf for like 4 days now and it's totally different. Such a difficult choice cause I do love the lsj that car has been with my for a long while now. The lnf is just something new and exciting for me especially with the difference in power. Still have a bit to think about it.

New girlfriends are new, fun, and exciting, but sometimes turn out to be complete bitches . Unless your completely sick of your car, get the newer car. If you are attached to it by heart, keep it and fix it.

Personally I'd repair the lsj and either drive it as a daily or keep it as a track car. If it's paid off you won't really get money back after sinking what you have into it with a hurt engine, and repairing the engine just to sell it seems like it would be a waste.

I'd really save up for a second car if I were you.

You still like your lsj and have done a lot to it that will need done down the line. I would get a rebuilt motor not another new to you motor, and save up to turbo swap it. It will be faster than the stockish lnf when you are done. If you don't have to drive it, then you have time to save.
You never know what can happen with the lnf down the line. If your lsj was totaled I'd say get the lnf. Unless your car is a little beat up and not worth fixing.
But it all comes down to where your heart lies and your bank account. If you feel like you are done with the lsj then you will have to decide that for yourself. Whatever will make you the happiest and not cause you to rethink what you decided all the time. It's never easy, we all get attached to our rides.

This. Finally got my car/ consolidated loan paid off. Feels so good and would hate to owe money on something that's depreciating as quick as I pay it off again.
