Keeping up with Methanol systems
FIRST OF ALL THIS IS FOR ALL THE ONES WHO NEED TO UNDERSTAND. "Why keep up with your Meth System"
Alright the basics, meth/water mix is used to increase octane, keep iat2 from reaching a high temp, and is used within a tune to increase power and reliability. Meth systems are easy to keep up with if you know what to look for,
Meaning:
1. Check your Nozzle/Injector Regularly --- Even if the pump says its on it doesnt mean its spraying, or spraying correctly. Look for debris, tarnishment, and that the spray has the ability to atomize.
2. Check all your lines for cracks, tension marks (Places where its crimped), check for rubbed walls, and check for lines that are to low to the ground.
3. Check your filter if you have one for dirt and clogging.
4.Check your tank for cracks, any type of fluid coming out or debris within the tank, check the seals.
5. Check your pump, meaning make sure it pulls and pushes fluid like it is supposed to. Make sure your power and ground is still good.
6. Make sure the controller or the activater for the meth is working properly by testing the system once al have been checked off..
7.No after alls been check i recommend a regular upkeep of revisions with your tuner for safety ... at least 2-4 times a year...
8. When you get revisins make sure your tuner keeps up with your narrowband and the wideband .. Both can get messed up over time with meth..
I hope this helps with some questions i get.
Methanol isnt somthing that you canjust keep behind you, you need to keep up with it. Because if your tuned for it and have high timing or a leaner afr you have the ability to pop... Pistons, ringlands, rings, and ect. So be safe and be careful....
Thank you
