Keyless Entry
Let's clear some things up: You're looking for KEYLESS ENTRY, right? POWER LOCKS?
You want to be able to hit a button your remote and and have your doors unlock?
Yes, you can have them installed. Yes, they're relatively cheap. Yes, it's easy to do.
No, you can't do it yourself.
i know im just a new member but it doesnt take a rocket scientist to say that the guy above me ^^^ is a F@g. its a question and your job as a premium member is to help others since you have more years on the board, what a great job your doing.....
but anyway, ya just get the kit for it like everyone else said but i would get it professionally installed unless you know your electricity systems ; )

you even know how much money you could save buy buying a base line car, then just adding the keyless entry /w locks and the auto windows after market?? Like thousands.
Id be willing to bet on the baseline cobalt one with out power windows and keyless entry /w power locks is about 3 or 4 grand cheaper in the end to one that has those options

The two my dealership had instock at the time were identical, with the exception of power locks, windows, and mirrors -- and there was a $2700 difference!
I just saying some people are smart, you can buy that stuff aftermarket for like a fraction of the price.
or some people just cant afford it. Its not because its 2008
i know i was just backin you up cause chevy cobalt was burnin on you. well not really burning on him but still.

I see what CC08 was sayin' though, heh.
But yeah, at the time I was recent grad and couldn't afford it at the time of purchase, anyway!
no its a 2005 and my limit was 10,000 and i NEEDED a more reliable vehicle for work and school my 94 lumina with 170,000 was not going to gut it for me plus gas yeah you can finish the sentence
Actually you can install the keyless entry yourself. You can buy the remote kits off ebay along with the actuators needed to physically unlock the doors when you hit the button. My buddy and I are installing them on my balt in a few weeks....wasn't there another thread awhile back covering this??
I did add lock actuators...well the dealer did, when I got the car. I also added some buttons on the dash to lock and unlock the doors. After that all you gotta do is get a keyless entry and wire it to the actuators. It really isn't that hard if you know intermediate electronics. I mean you're not doing a remote start install or anything....
