Keyless Entry Remote FIX

Hey guys. I fixed my keyless entry remote (stock) and it works perfectly now. No more intermittent failure... perfect.

I typed up a "how to" on it 2 weeks ago.....

The problem is.... it still hasn't shown up in the "how to" section.

2 different cobalts with the stock remotely entry/start, and ive never had an issue. i was also unaware of a common issue with the remote keyfob. what kind of symptoms were you having?

I had an issue with mine, turned out to be faulty solder joints on the battery connector.

Yeah, it is the solder joints. If you press the buttons too hard or are not careful replacing the battery, the battery clip loses connection. Two methods of fixing it are to either resolder it with a proper solder joint, or to just use something to shim the clip to make it hold connection.

Exactly. I resoldered them. Perfect now. The factory solder was brittle and didn't bond right, almost like a cold solder joint.

Anyway, I posted pics and such for people who don't know what they're looking at on a circuit board.
