Laser Blue Metallic

Has anyone seen in person, has recently purchased, or knows someone that purchased a laser blue metallic Cobalt? If so I'm looking for some pictures, not the ones from the GM website but some actual pics taken by anyone here (on a Cobalt, not another car like the Equinox). I'll be placing an order in about a month and need to confine my color choice.

I have a Cobalt on order in Laser Blue. They told me that it isn't available till sept 26th, so I don't think there are any pictures out there yet. My Step Uncle also is a paint co-ordnator for the cobalt. Said something like the laser blue has a very harsh flake, and is burning up the pumps, and I guess they're trying to perfect it. Once I get it I'll post pics no prob, but until then

I have an SS-SC coming in Laser Blue Metallic that I may buy. At least for Canada, Arrival Blue was discontinued towards the end of August, and the new Laser Blue Metallic began production right away. I too have tried to find a pic, but couldn't yet. Some US dealerships however listed 2006 Cobalts in Laser Blue Metallic as "in-stock". So, it's just a matter of time.

I've seen it in person on Chevy Equinoxs and Malibus. It's a dark blue with a violet tinge to it. It changes from electric blue to almost a dark blue/purple depending on how the light hits it. I think it looks great when it appears blue, but I don't really like the violet tinge it gets in darker areas.

Check out my previous post showing some of the Equinox's and other cars wearing the color: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/appearance-48/tough-choice-ahead-red-vs-blue-5290/ (scroll to bottom of 1st page)

The pictures of the Cobalt under that, as I understand it, are not wearing a production color, so it's NOT Laser Blue Metallic on the car.

Here's a Malibu SS in the color:

I think he ment that the aplication process (which to my understanding is powder coat) still has to be worked out in order to get consistant results.

This color has been out on Malibus, Impalas and Monte-Carlos since the start of the 2005 model year at leat! They wouldn't still be trying to figure out how to put it on if it's been being painted for almost two years now!!! That story sounds silly to me!

I thought mine was the laser blue then i realized i was wrong. I love the arrival blue. Is the laser blue darker or lighter than the arrival?

I mentioned that about it being on the Monte Carlos and Impalas, cause I was wondering why they would be waiting to start making them, but he said that there is a difference in the paint that they've been using, and what he refered to as a new Laser Blue. He said to most people, even himself, the change wouldn't really be noticable unless you had a good eye and they were next to one another.
Then again, I was about to hop onto a jetski, and was thinking more about that for the moment rather then colors.

I have already made my decision and ordered a black SS/SC today (as it's my safe color and I've only owned black vehicles, so it's sort of a thing for me)
I'd still like to see the laser blue metallic on a Cobalt if anyone gets around to some actual snapshots.

I heard that the blue on the preproduction model is not the actual "Laser Blue Metallic". It's some blue with a pearl-type coating. Can anyone confirm this?

As I have been told before, this is NOT "Laser Blue Metallic" on the Cobalt. It is an early pre-production model with a one-off paint job from GM. I however feel it is at least very similar to the color. So maybe it is, maybe it isn't. Depends who you talk to!
