Unless you ride your clutch it's not going to kill it. Sure your giving your transmission hell but that's what having fun is all about.

As sneaky said sure it's hard on your clutch and tranny but so is stop and go traffic which I'm sure we all get stuck in from time to time . As well, there is really no other way to pass a car quickly on the highway without power shifting. Sure you could double clutch and then hit it but that still takes more time than just power shifting the car.

I felt a bizarre crunch the other day when I power shifted from 4th down to 3rd (had a damn car right in my trunk so rev matching wasn't an option) the other day but I'm assuming it was the springs coming in contact because I dumped it pretty hard (either that or it could have been the clutch pedal spring itself). I wouldn't worry about it too much a car is meant to be driven and when you're racing you're not going to get a quicker shift than power shifting .

Yes, Powershifting is bad. I have just learned to shift faster.

Multiple T-45 & 3650 Tremec's have met there match when being power shifted in Mustangs.

As long as you're not ALWAYS powershifting I can't see that happening to your average vehicle. As I said I reserve it pretty much for passing cars on the highway or if I get pissed off at a slow driver in town and want to make a point when I go around them or in the rare instance I race someone while out driving. I could see it doing serious damage if you are consistently powershifting your car through every gear all the time but I think as long as he does it only at the track or while racing (on a closed course of course ) the tranny should be able to hold up to it.

I could be wrong since this is my first standard but I did enough research before I bought one to get a good handle on what I should and shouldn't be doing to my car . The problem I still have being new to standard is when I shift fast at higher RPMs my car bucks on occasion because my left and right feet just don't want to work together and I come out not having given the car enough throttle as the clutch is coming out (I'll get there...just need more time ). With powershifting I'm almost guaranteed not to do this...I just make sure that if I shift near 6500 that I don't start bouncing it off the rev limiter since for one I can't stand the sound and two I'd imagine that's not real healthy for it either .
