launch qustion for the ss/sc
launch qustion for the ss/sc
ok if the rpm are to high i do nothing but spin the tires so whats a good rpm to launch at so i get go traction but can really put my foot to the floor? or just any sugestions would be nice and can you double cluch these cars?
All my best 60 foot times have come letting clutch out quickly (slightly slipping it) @ 2000-2500 but not quick enough to spin the tires...I have managed a 2.182 & a 2.188 with a completely stock car. ANY time I have spun even slightly= wheel hop& loss of time. No wheel spin= better '60 foot= better E.T.s. After 25+ times down the track I got much better& that is after 20 years of drag racing!!! I can not comment on "double-clutch" as I am not a semi-truck driver....he-he.
he he.
The real question is do you know what double clutching is? I mean obviously you don't that was retorical, but seriously no don't double clutch.
Hollywood at it's finest folks!
About launching though, just launch at about 1500 and you should get a decent launch. If you start to wheel hop get off the gas immediately.

some people think double clutching is this: im gonna tell u a story of a ricer at my school.."it was so foggy this morning i got to use my underglow and i double clutched all the way here" and his friend said what was that and the ricer said "when i shifted i didnt take my foot off the gas and pushed the clutch in and shifted really fast" I DIED LAUGHING
lol i thought double clutching was where just just clutched to get of out gear then you clutched again to get into anouther gear i always here people at the track talking about it ive never seen it or tried it so i just thought i would ask on here
that is double clutching,.. we dont need to do that.. we have syncros in our trannys.. just clutch once and shift
^^^^they also rev the engine to match the rpms needed for the next gear in N then clutch into the next gear, its for unsyncronized manual transmissions, which were in old semi trucks
might have been where 'power shifting' came from...
man did fast and the furious do a number on society
imagine a semi-truck driver watching it, and being all "wtf?!"
