Like the scoop? Hate the scoop

I personally molded the scoop into my hood and just wanted to take a pole. Some love it, some hate it. Obviously I love it otherwise I would not have done it. It takes nuts to do something nobody else has done. I guess I also have to be nuts to do something nobody else has to their Cobalt. Keep in mind that it is a very efficient heat extractor and no water or debris gets in the engine bay from it. Thanks for the opinions.

i love the idea and the workmanship that went into it, but from a appearance standpoint, it needs *more* to it. extractor vents on either side of it, or making it bigger, or painting it matte black. something to make it stand out from the wall of red the rest of the hood has to offer.

I couldn't make it any bigger without the hood losing its structural integrity. A bigger scoop would have made it really flemsy. I put the SS logos on each side to help dress it up a little. I have been considering painting a black stripe down the center, but I don't know if a stripe on the hood by itself would look good or if I would have to carry it down the rest of the car which I really do not want to do.

Not a fan at all. Doesn't match the car in any way.
Though I do appreciate all the work that went into it, everything was done nice and clean.

Sorry man but I dont think it can be saved. Personally I think a whole new hood is in order. Cobalt addiction offers the Carbon Fiber ITrenz hood, lot sleaker lookin, lighter weight, and performs the same function.

from dead on it looks like the hood is raised for SC clearance on a V engine...course were inline, so that obviously cant be the case

it doesn't look molded. lol. it looks like u went to pep boys n adhesived it on. thats just what it looks like though. if it were a TINY bit bigger n wider deff would look better. i like it though.

here's my hood. i have 2 blue racing stripes on it. alot of people don't like it, n they say it looks unfinished. i like it bc nobody around here has just stripes on the hood. in the pic though, it looks like it's not straight n jagged. thats bc i took it on a picture phone.

I do appreciate all the input. It's here to stay, but I know it's not everybody's cup of tea. I don't like carbon fiber because it is almost impossible to repair and might be 8-10lbs lighter than the steel hood. More importantly they don't fit that well. The same can be said for a fiberglass hood. In a lot of cases, a fiberglass hood is actually heavier than a steel heood depending on the car. I run a body shop so I try to look at things from a repairability stand point too.

mmm it looks rather diminuitive.

I appreciate effort, but it just needs... something else.

It just looks a little alone, a little island on a vast sea of hood, lol. I dunno, it's not BAD, just lacks something
