LNF or LSJ
I wasn't critisizing anyone for liking what they like...its the I LIKE IT THEREFOR EVERYTHING ELSE IS INFERIOR complex people have...sheesh...
I personally like the ss/sc better...but i can see how easily the tc is going to do....look at the MS3. They use a direct injection too and look how easily they respond to mods.
it will not take long for people to crack the system and fix it so you can easily gain power.
I think the LNF is going to be a better motor to mod however both the LSJ and LNF are not the problems. From what I understand they will be using the same transmission which means I don't want either car. For me with 2 lilttle ones and getting ready to go back for more school I need to be wise and sell my car. It sucks but I won't regret not spending so much time and money into a race car.
Your right, some people do act like how you said. I have alot of knowledge on the LSJ but I do not have alot of knowledge on the LNF. Anyone who says the LNF will not respond better to mods and anyone who says the LNF is not stronger then the LSJ is out of their minds. However, the problem remains...same weak transmission. The stock transmission is a weakness. Once you reach 300whp its a ticking time bomb. Some people cracked casings with less power. You can get around the tranny problem and never add tranny mounts, never make it stiff but there is no getting around your slow times and bad 60" times at the track. These cars can not handle over 280+whp with slicks and hold up very long with stiff mounts. I have many friends who have learned this the hard way. Conclusion
Motor LSJ < LNF
Tranny LSJ = LNF
Suspension LSJ < LNF
Appearance LSJ > LNF
1/4th LSJ < LNF
Breaking Stuff LSJ = LNF
Over all the LNF will be a better performance car but in the end your still going to be paying out alot of money for mods like any other car out there. If the LNF upgraded the tranny I would consider a cobalt again when I can afford it. As of now, I can't afford it so it doesn't matter
Seriously wtf is your problem
As a matter of fact, what the **** is every person with an LSJ's problem?
There is nothing wrong with liking what you have, but ignorantly(not rudely) talking about how LSJ>LNF for no real reason is stupid. Really stupid as a matter of fact. The turbo set up is way more efficient and less heat is produced with the same amount of HP. You know the the suspension and brakes are upgraded this time around too firedick?
I have watched multiple St II LSJs dyno and looked at the dynos of both the LNF and LSJ...stock for stock there is no comparison and St II is in the ball park of a stock LNF...just get over the fact that GM is puttin a stronger stock motor in the new SS than a lot of the tuners are putting down and made a ton of money off all of us.
Wait what's that?
Oh that is GM laughing at us you ******* tool.

Oh no i was not trying to make you seem bad or something, just making a point on this thead to EVERYONE that everyone has a right to like what they like, thats all
Did you read my post? LOL. LNF longblock + TVS supercharger with LSJ intake manifold and aftercooler (using the stage 3 dual pass and a larger heat exchanger of course)
I'm keeping my LSJ BUT........... If anyone thinks the LNF isn't going to be tunable they are mistaken. The TC is going to be a more efficient on power making side of things and the torque is going to come in low and be like a table top till the upper rpm range . Face it , the LNF is a good thing for this car , and it will be a great performer.
I love my LSJ , it would be a tough choice if i was buying a new cobalt, but i can honestly say i would pick the SC . The WHINE and the recaro package put's the SC over the top for me. I don't care if i have the fastest econ car around , hell ive only seen 1 other SS/SC in a 50 mile radius . FWIW

If you were to buy the new tc/ss, you should wait at least a year to get all the bugs out. Every car company coming out with a new design has problems with the first year of production. Wait a year, and wait out the bugs. This tc motor is going to be a very mod friendly engine, and it will have GM performance parts for it. Just heard from a little inside source.

I'm not saying this car isn't going to be efficient and powerful or tuneable. I love direct injection and turbos are uber efficient. I just hate how cars are being made to drive only off of horsepower increments allowing for more control, but more hassle for tuning. I don't have proof but i've heard the software maxes out at a certain torque output and tuning won't get you past it, i'm sure people will find out soon enough when they're out so i'm skeptical.
I used to dream about the LNF swap as well, but now i'm thinking otherwise, especially with the TVS Eaton coming out
I think I will hold onto my LSJ for a bit. If tuning for the LNF becomes less of a hassle or just less money and the LNF guys are seeing great gains, I may switch over. If the LNF is anything like the SRT4 was, I think I will pick one up. I guess the real question is will I have a LNF and a LSJ, or will I trade the LSJ in
.
