Lockable Glove box.

Is there any possible way I can get my hands on a lockable glove box for the Cobalts?

Only thing i can think of is finding a locking mechanism off of a different gm car like a monte carlo or something. one that looks like it fits, maybe it has a similar latch. i doubt theres anyone on here that would wanna fab one, and if they did the price would probly not be worth it

just keep your weed in the trunk

I always wondered why GM did not make them "lockable"

I guess because the Cobalt glove box is made so cheap. The plastic seems as mentioned above you can literally rip it off.

I would have to say the only option would be to made a entire new glove box from a stronger material then have a lock made with it.

Alot of people pay me for rides, and I can't even get out of the car to go pay for my gas.. I cant trust any of them really, I don't know them on that level. I broke my neck last summer, so im on mad pain killers. My car is 100% clean, so the spare stuff goes in the Glove box. Money / drugs / etc etc. A lockable glove box would be perfect for me.. It don't really need to act like a safe.. If I go pay for my gas and come out and somebody ripped my glove box off, im going to know lol.. Then I can just beat the sh*t out of them on the spot.

Hmm. Locked glove boxes means no bueno for police officers without a warrant. I see where this is going.

Lmao.. No LEO is going to search my car without a warrant anyway.. Theres no probable cause for it, no pot smell or alcohol smell.

My father was a Ohio State Trooper, so I followed in his footsteps ( sort of ) . I have my Associates in Criminal Justice. Unfortunatly, I broke my neck last summer and had 4 plates, 1 rod, 5 spaces and 4 fusions put on my spine, c3-c7. So right now, no Law enforcement Agency is going to hire me due to liability issues.

The sentry safe actually looks tempting.. Would I have to have custom brackets made to mount that somewhere? it would be cool to have it mounted under my seat, so I could push my seat up and unlock it and get stuff out.. then lock it back up and move the seat back.. seems like a decently secure process..

Here's a nice place to keep your money; a wallet. If you can't trust your friends with your personal belonging, you sir need to find some new friends.

They aren't friends really, I just work with them.. I'll take $15 a week from each of them to go a total of 4 blocks out of my way =)

Most of the time im in shorts or sweats and don't have my wallet.. I just keep $30-40 in my glovebox for emergency purposes..

I just screwed a flip latch (like a gate) to my glove box and use a padlock when I park in bad areas, strip the screws though so a thief can just unscrew the latch looks kinda like this

I'll get a pic in the daylight, but you get the idea, yeah its kinda ugly, but function>form IMHO

and if you fell for this then trolololol
