Looking to buy Auto SS
I'm not so sure about your reasoning there though. I understand you ran that in the rain, but I ran that time on a hot summer day with all-season tires. Plus, the only performance mods I had were: Injen CAI, 2.5" axel-back, test pipe, custom tune (mostly tranny tuning). You have the Corsa cat-back, header, 2.5" XTC pipe, CAI, and a Wester's tune in addition to the e-rams. I don't think those helped you all that much if you still ran about the same time as me.
Hey All!
Thanks so much for your feedback - its much appreciated. After driving both the Cobalt SS Auto Sedan and the Mazda 3...I think I am more interested in the Cobalt. Though I prefer the "looks" of the Mazda 3 (excluding the interior - couldn't stand it) it was a smooth ride but found the car very slow to accelerate and was very jerky when the car would drop in RPM's. The Cobalt also had more bang for my buck too - lots of standard features kept option prices very low. I do have an additional question however in regards to price:
When you purchased your Cobalts did the dealer add any extra fees ie. Floorplan Fees (wholesale financial reserves), Dealer Prep fees, Advertising Fees?
The dealer is trying to get me to purchase at $25400 CDN but I have the invoice price of $23157 CDN ($23032 with destination and AC fee) price is for Cobalt SS Sedan w/ Sunroof, Remote Starter and Auto Trans.
Any info is appreciated, thanks!

Mine stickered at $24,400--auto trans and remote starter--sold for 23,400. No Fees assocaited with it. So I wouldn't expect anyting more then 1K off MSRP.
I'm #1 for the 2.4L autos.

Other than the e-rams, the only performance mod I have on you is the header - good for maybe 8-10hp.
I ran with stock tires at 35psi, 68degree temp, sealevel, 96% humidity (don't know the Bar. Pressure) to record my 15.35 @ 87.45mph.
Look how low my trap speed was compared to my ET. When the tranny shifted into second, my tires went up in smoke, just like I was coming off the line. I didn't back out of it. I just let them spin till they caught. It was probably just one wheel spinning - I don't know.
I do know that it cost me big time - maybe a couple tenths and 3-4mph in trap speed. But this was my first time launching a FWD car at the track ever - so it kinda caught me off guard. I certainly didn't expect to go up in smoke 1/4 the way down the strip with a 200hp auto!
My best times before the e-rams using a g-tech was 15.5-15.6 - cool day, zero elevation. Maybe I'm getting a little better, but taking this into account, I still see at least a small diff. before and after. After all, if the e-rams work perfectly as advertised the best I can expect to see is about an 18hp difference (9% gain.) What do you think an extra 18 hp will give me - maybe a tenth or two?
There was a white SS I wanted--it ahd leather/sunroof--we went back and forth and they would not come down on that tot he price of a hardtop/cloth--so thats why I said 1K off is the most your likely to get.
Beetles are for girls!! Hardly competion for the Cobalt-I guess its compact though
honestly i did the same when i was looking for my car back in the day. i test drove both. if ur goin auto that sporttronic is cool. whatever u call it. i like the look the the ss better. the tranny sucks in the mazda no good torque. cobalt has some good power. if ur looking for good look n performance..go with the 2.4ss. my old 2.2 smoked a mazda3 by2-3 cars. and im gettin my 2.4 tuesday..so yeah i vote 2.4ss cobalt
