Looking to get some opinions.

Alright guys, so I have always been a fan of the Cobalt since pre-production. I'm not quite as much of a newbie as I may seem, I have been around these boards before but forgot user names and changed e-mails.

I am just looking to get some opinions on what I think I'm going to do. At first I really only liked the SS balts but I think I have an idea for one that would look pretty clean.

How about just a base silver Cobalt with no wing or anything, put some 5 percent tint on the windows, some black wheels with a chrome lip, and drop it about 2-3 inches. How do you guys think this would look? I have searched all over here and cardomain to try and find some pics of something close but have had no luck.

snobird, where are you in TN. I drive to Knoxville from TX sometimes and have been wanting my low wing off for a while.

See heres the problem man. A) I'm only 18 and insurance would be a killer on an SS or SS/SC, and B) Money, money, money. I'm not quite working with that kinda cash. I can get just a plain jane Balt for 12,000 with power windows and remote keyless at least.

Don't waste your time on The SS if you're gonna remove all the extra stuff your paying for. If it's just the wing and badges your removing that's fine. Plus they still have things like the 1SB Package for the Cobalt ls, lt, and ltx so you can get something good for cheap. I don't race my Cobalt anyway. Have only taken it over 100 mph twice. But I know even my 2005 LS (Which is now the LT I believe) has alot of pep in it.

A mustang is out of the option. I hate those cars. I don't much care for Fords period.

I like the SS's but I'm not really looking for much, I'm just fixing to start college and I'm wanting to get a new car. I have had my current car for 3 years but its just time for something new. I don't really care about whats under the hood I just want to make it look good and last me for a few years.

Here is my current whip that I'm looking to sell...Its a 2001...

Its not that I don't like my car or think it doesn't look good, I'm just ready for something new. I've had the car for 3 years and I'm just starting to get bored with it.

Why not?

I just liked the car. I thought I was set on a new base Cobalt and lowering it and putting some nice wheels on it but none of the Chevy dealerships could get their act together and get one like I wanted in. I seen this at a local Nissan dealership and the price was good so I went for it. Everyone that I know who has a Nissan says they are great cars.

I still like my Cobalts. I just still don't own one. lol

That Design on the nissan is about as tired and old as the Cav's was when they changed it up. To each their own, and I know it was cheap, I've seen sentra's go for 7-8k when dealerships are trying to offload them because they are so fugly. But especially now when they've got the newly redesigned sentras coming in in a couple of months.

The 2007 Nissan Sentra is scheduled to go on sale in the fall of 2006 as a 2007 model. Nissan says pricing will start around $15,000 for a vehicle equipped with power windows and locks, air conditioning, and side curtain airbags. The new Sentra is produced in Aguascalientes, Mexico alongside the new Nissan Versa.

I don't like the new design myself. I guess it's just like you said, to each his own.
I just thought I would update and let everyone know I did get something new, but thanks for all the bashings anyways.

Congratulations on your purchase! But, to be perfectly honest with you, you should not be surprised by "bashings." This is a Cobalt related site, and people here want to hear about others buying Cobalts, not the competition. So don't sweat it too much.
