looking for option cost by model year
How many of you have the window sticker for your Cobalt still?
I am interested in compiling the costs of options specifically to Level III & Level IV Cobalts, but if I get enough response, I could compile it all...
This is purely to appease my own curiosity.. but I figure that if this is something that interests me, that others of you have thought this.
I should have all 2009 SS options covered for Canadian cars ~ assuming that the option cost didn't change during the model year, with one exception, I do not know (or cannot recall) what the cost was for Sport Red Tintcoat....
If you still have your window sticker (and you got a couple minutes to spare) could you please post your:
I'll start this out with post #2, by posting my Cobalt's info.

- model year
- trim level

- all options c/w charge
- option code - if you know it
- American or Canadian destined car (this would reflect different option prices)

Bump for now.
I meant to add to this last night, and forgot ...
I blame the Dungeon.
At any rate, I'll do this tonight - I have a note set on my work calendar.

For example, how many times have you heard/read that 17" rims were standard or available on SS/SC's ~ I've heard it alot.
What I'd suspect happened was that the dealer changed rims between an SC & a 2.4 car to make a sale.

I had understood early in the 2009 model year that the inflator kit came standard;
You can imagine that having read the options my car had (no listing or charge for a spare tire), I was elated to see a spare sitting there when I arrived to pick up the car!
My 2009 Cobalt brochure makes note of neither btw...
So am I to understand that your car came with USB but no XM?
I dug up the option codes ~ they are not on my window sticker;
my detination charge was $1,325.00

not interested in statistics, or what options a car has ~ moreover, looking to spell out/debunk some misinformation floating around, and appease curiosity at this time...

No, I have XM.
My car has the XM radio, single CD/MP3 plarer, and the 2 input jacks - the plug in, and the USB port , which was a $ 100.00 adder - at least on my window sticker.
The options that I listed were the only ones on my sticker - all the rest of the equipment was standard.
$ 1325.00 for a destination charge - well, some railroad made it's money !

It's odd that a Canadian car would show it as an option, while it wouldn't be present on an American car... weird.
If you notice I found the option code for the USB port radio, but no option code for XM radio!? ~ while my window sticker clearly shows charges for both.
maybe I'll try to get a scan of mine...
But what's worse was my own being bamboozled at the last minute by the dealer with a $400 paperwork fee... ouch (it's a good thing I got over $8k off MSRP!)

Meh - I bought it for zero percent for 72 months, in lieu of maybe a $ 2500.00 rebate ?
No extra fees, though !!
MastaShaKe_88 's Vin Decoder will give you option codes , so it may be worth a look. I am in the Camaro today, though, so I don't have my Vin handy.
I had almost forgotten the joy of spinning the rear tires !
