Looks like I’m getting rid of my balt
Yeah I know I’m new to the forum and only had my balt for 6 months and I’ve spent more then 2 thousand on the car not on modifications but on fixing it looks like the tranny that I just installed busted on me and I know its not my driving I’ve driven stick sans I was 16 my EK and my prelude were stick and man I’ve never had problems with a stick car then my balt. Could be that mine is the fist generation SS but man this car has seen the mechanic more then my Honda cars this sucks. Ill keep you guys posted but looks like I'm going to trade it in for a sedan a 2006 4 door Toyota Avalon or Lexus GS300
I hope that I can still chat with you guys if I do get rid of my car.

Was this done at a dealer. I believe dealerships warranty their installed work for a set amount of time. I think it was 12k for Nissan, not sure about chevy. What type of work was done on the tranny anyway?

I may sound dumb here but... why wasn't all of the repairs covered under warranty? Did you purchase it at a GM dealer? or are you already over 36k miles.
Just curious... I purchased my 05 from a Chevy dealership and it is warrantied up to 39 mnths or 39k miles because it was a GM Certified vehicle.

I don’t want to let it go but man this is already the second tranny gone out on this car. I bought the car used with 29K and I already have 38K, man this sucks I bought the used LSD tranny from a wreck in yard and they warranty there tranny for 6 months, and my car ran on there tranny for 2 days the gears began to grind on Christmas Day. Then the gear popped out. Funny when I called The Wrecking Yard the asked me if the mechanics cleared my computer when they installed my new tranny. Come on its Manual you control the gear not the computer that’s only on Automatics. But yeah I can’t afford fixing this car all the time. And another thing when I bought the car 3 weeks after the clutch went out, I took it back it was still under warranty they turned me around, I’m sorry but Chevy dosent have the best customer warranty. My brother had a Toyota XRS matrix and he was on the juice when he busted his tranny no question they just fixed it.
bye bye balt

I bought mine used with 15k miles on it, it performs wonderfully. Then again, I bought it from Carmax, who have a pretty kickass inspection before they approve a car to be sold. They even let me explore their garage, it's top of line. Carmax is the ****.
Sucks about the tranny issues though.

You should trade it in on an 2008 SS/TC be the first on your block with one of those bad boys. I'm willing to bet the tranny won't be jacked up.
As for your current SS. Well you did buy a used sport compact. and no telling how it was treated before you got it. Sorry to hear about the bad luck.
I had some lousy tranny luck several years back with a Taurus SHO so I feel your pain.
Good luck in whatever you decide.

Clutchmasters are known to cause incomplete disengagement. On the redline forums they had a thread where clutchmasters owed up to their defect and were refunding the money spent on their faulty clutches.

my clutch died at about 37,000...luckily for me i had the extended warranty otherwise it would have been at least $1100 out of my very slim wallet. i think i only ended up paying about $120 or so for the plate and the rest was covered due to be defective.
haven't had any tranny issues *knock on wood*

No problems with mine, but bought it brand new
I was seriously considering getting a used one, but the prices were very high for used. I also knew that these types of cars you don't want to get new
Good luck with what ever you decide, but it's to bad you'll have bad memories just because of someone else's problems or your bad luck.
