low fuel light

Actually, I can take this one. Its b/c our fuel pump is probably cooled by the gas in the tank. Less than a 1/4 means its going to get a bit warm and wear it out sooner. My mom's Impala has had the fuel pump replaced for this very reason.

I usually fill up somehere above 1/8 of a tank. The est. distance says "low range" but I never has a low fuel alarm come on. Low range is under 40 miles from what I've seen.

ha i run mne till it says low fuel all the time at least twice a week.

you would be correct.. runnin any vehicle that has a tank mounted fuel pump below and 1/8 tank is bad as hell on the fuel pump. the fuel is what keeps the pump cooled down and once you get lower than 1/8 tank you have little to no gas left touchin the pump to keep it cool.

more accurately DOES it even have a gas light or does it just tell you fuel range low/fuel low?? Mine will tell me aprox. How many miles till E until it gets on E then it reads as previously stated.
