low profile vs high profile wing

guys not sure if there are technical names for each wing but my 07 ss/sc has the lower profile wing on it. i like it alot better then the higher style. coming from the muscle car fan club i never had a taste for big wings. but in any case, which one are you less likely to see? so far i have seen very few black 07s with my lower profile wing, to be honest havent seen many 07s of any color with my wing

it's rarer to see a SS S/C with the low pro wing because the just started putting on/offering it. BUT the low pro is the most seen on cobalts in general because the 2.2 and the 2.4 both have it as well. IMO if you have a SS S/C it's either Big wing or no wing. if you wanna stand out slam, shave and de-wing that bitch.

you got it right.
Hi profile spoiler and Low profile spoiler.
From our experiences here on the short bus, the high wing blocks headlights from cars WAY back, but you can see right behind you.
THe Low pro blocks headlights right behind you, but you can see them further than 75 ft back.
The Low pro IS much more common, as it's stock available on LS/LT/SSna/ and now SSsc coupe models.
The High pro used to come stock on the SS/SC, and sometimes on a SS/NA. (Depending on how detailed the dealer got when they ordered)

They're is no major difference in performance when it comes to downforce between the two. Our cars just don't go fast enough for them to matter much.

what for? , i have never had a problem with my wing because my tint is so dark in the back it doesnt matter cant see **** anyways. But I gotta say on long trips on the highway, i really like that the wing blocks the headlights behind me.

I could see just fine. basivally, its just the headlight thing. i mean, the wing blocks part of your view sure, but only a slit as thick as the blade. try looking out the back window of an avalanche...

The one and only thing I like about the ridiculous high spoiler wing is the fact that it blocks out head lights of cars and semi trucks. I travel ALLOT but I still don't know if the blocking of the lights is worth looking like a 16 year old kid getting his first honda. IMO Big wings to tuners are like training wheels to bikes, onces you learn what you are doing you take them off and carry on your way.

Seriously, if you've got a low pro wing. The next time a hottie pulls up directly behind you at a stop light. I want to to remember what I said while you contort every which way to check her out short of actually turning around in your seat.

I have the low pro. Some will say the PD's eye up the park benches more than no wing or low pro. Plus the blind spot can be a killer. However the exterior look of the park bench is pretty nice.
Cheers

i'm with you on that...it will happen with mine sometime. i just need to make sure she will look alright without being lowered after i take the spoiler off.

I'm all for the lower one. I just don't find big spoilers to be my thing anymore. I would have loved it when I was younger though.

They look cool and I always have a tiny bit of desire to have one when I see another Cobalt with one, but I like the more understated look of the low pro one for my car.

well you are right about the lts and stuff having lo pro wings too but i am pretty sure the low pro wing on the ss sc is different from the low pro wing on the lts and such. i have never been able to come across an lt when i was driving the cobalt and park next to it, but i run into them all the time when i am in my jeep for some reason. looking at the lo pro on the lts i dont think they are them same, they seem to be a bit shorter length wise and sit a bit lower on the deck lid. i mean i could be wrong but thats how it looks. i mean has anyone ever really compared the two low pro wings next to each other or work for gm and actually make these wings to disprove my theory? lol. and wingless you can forget about that

I agree. But I prefer the low profile over no spoiler...I just think cars that have the option for a spoiler need to have it otherwise it looks weird, IMO.

I like the high wing. First impressions, that's what was on the ss/sc the first time I saw it. Plus, I think the back of the car would look weird with out the wing to set it off.

i don't like the high wing for several reasons.

1) it's too big
2) on the highway it flops around like crazy, and looks like it's gonna fall off
3) it's too big
