LS Manual?

Did the LS have a manual transmision option? Someone at work said the clutch went out on a base model cobalt. I always thought only the SS came in a manual.

Ok thanks,
I thought the LS was the base model.
Maybe I"m mistaken.
BTW: My employer just got a 2010 LT for the company. I told the supply guy that the battery (IT looks factory) will proably not last the winter. (THey last 5 years f rom what I understand)

Yes, it was standard on ls to come with a manual.
as far as battery, my 08 ss still has its stock battery and my 08 ls was changed last year. still have it, it hadn't died but I could tell some cold mornings it was getting weaker so i put It on a mower. still going good.

Automatic was roughly an $800-1k option.

My 06 LS was a manual. So much more fun than that crappy automatic. Automatic held decent power though. Auto always needed the shift kit from B&M

Pretty sure manual came standard. Auto is usually a more expensive option.

Learned how to drive stick on my 06 ls actually. I'm pretty sure all the xfes are manual aswell. Speaking on the 06 and batteries. I sold the car last year with the original battery still in it. Worked like a charm.

Never noticed a manual driving around though haha, unless the average driver is just really good at it.

I know this post is older now, but I just had to say that there is a trim under the LS, and that is base. I would know, because I own one, lol.

I suppose it depends on the year as well, as 2005 was the only year that I know of that had a base. But at one point, there was a trim under ls.

Ah, That makes sense. So, I guess that means that the 06-10 LS was the equivalent of the 05 base. Manual windows and locks, no cruise control, and no keyless entry.
