That one has a supercharged honda civic type R engine.

The more recent version recieved a 430hp v8.

I wasn't sure which one was in the vid because I saw it a number of years ago and wasn't interested in watching it again. It stuck in my mind because I remember the constant smile on Jeremy's? face while he was driving.

Times from top gear test track. 500 was fastest car ever but the 2.0(I assume Honda but the lsj has similar power and probably better low end) was still #20

I believe the issue is that the Atom 2 with the LSJ, the newer Atom 3 is the one with the Honda motor, wasn't sold in the states for very long. Ariel just started selling them here before they made the switch to Honda. If you look hard enough, you can still find a few Atom 2's for sale in the US with the LSJ. Don't bother trying to buy one though, even used. Everyone still wants rediculous prices for their used Atoms.

 

It would be so ******* awesome to have a built lsj atom. did the k20 one use the same blower? sounds so close..

There was a episode of car crazy that featured Jay Leno's Ariel Atom lsj

 

Google Brammo Ariel atom for the LSJ variant made in Ashland Oregon, or check wiki for ariel atom. I have experience with these cars, a real pos for track work, no sway bars, no means of fixing that with the packaging issues, unpredictable crap. The Quaife 6 speed conversion was done for Brammo, but I guess he got in over his head and that was that, went bust.

I looked into buying one. YOu pretty much need to be on the forums to get a used one, get lucky as F from craigslist/dealer. Or buy from AA themselves.

 

have driven one, and have the brammo file out of one as well. there is a couple guys on here who have a tvs one and a built turbo version, just haven't heard from them in a while. not really the safest thing to drive in traffic as people in front of you at stop lights can't see you.

 

I do remember a few TVS guys on the forums....

 

There was one at the Nashville Import Alliance this year, Im pretty sure I have some videos of it doing some autocross. I'll look when I get home...bad little car, unfortunately they wrecked it and busted the radiator.
