G85 Dilemma

I have found Marvin to be a source of accurate information on the Corvette forums. I just am not sure what he meant by "pulled my sold orders." After reading Marvin's post, I contacted the dealer where my order is placed and found out all their 3400's had been changed to 3000, including my order with the G85 Performance Package, but as of 5PM Friday they still believed my order would be filled as ordered. By sold order, Marvin may be referring to 1101 (accepted by GM) or anything 3100 or less. But he may be including 3400 (broadcast for production.) Incidentally, this is the dealer that sold Sneaky his SS/SC and my following of GM Buypower indicates this dealer has received and sold as many Cobalt SS/SCs as the rest of the dealers in Michigan combined. I too e-mailed Chevy but expected when I did that their answer would be to stay in contact with the dealer. If I get an answer that actually has info, I will post. laborsmith

Well I know personally I am not starting any "rumor" when I say that I cannot get the g85 and that GM called my dealership and then they called me asking if I wanted to change my order to hopefully get an '05 because they were not building anymore '05s with the g85 because they are perhaps unable to get something they need for the LSD. Just relaying what I've been told...

I wouldn't put any stock into what customer service says these days. My sales guy called them about the heated seat issue and he was told by them that the car came with them which it clearly doesn't. The sales guy said they probably just read from the bloody sales brochure

Actually, if I am not mistaken... which I am sure I probably am, the stock seats on the SS s/c are made by Recaro. The dealer told me that this was true, but I'm not positive. They're just not the "racing style" seats...

I was at a car meet sponsored by the dealer I bought my car from on Saturday. They wanted to show off my car since it's the only one in the area. I talked with my saleman and the sales manager who both told me that there will be no more 05' G85's produced.
They had one ordered that had been released for production, but they received a call on friday teling them that they would have to wait for an 06' with G85 if the person that ordered still wanted it.

if they did stop making the g85 at least they built my car before they decided this. Now if they would only take my car off hold and ship it to me.

I don't get why they are having problems with the package. Then again if Recaro has to make two seats per car, you can easily get up to 1000+ seats. That might be the problem...

I could be wrong about it being released into the system. I think they might have had the order in the system but not yet released and that all G85's that have already been released for production will be built. That seems to be the logical explanation.

About the seats, If you look at the seat base of both seats, they look exactly the same.
